What are the parts of a plant? Do all cactus plants have leaves? Why are leaves green? There is a huge variety of plants in the world. They range from tiny bean sprouts to huge cactus plants and giant redwood trees. Even though plants can look very different, most are made up of the same basic parts. Plant Parts examines and explains each of these structures.

The book, Plant parts by Louise Spilsbury allows students to find out the characteristics of a plant. It teaches students about the different parts of a plant, how they grow, how plants are classified, and it also informs the student about what a plant's value is and what it's used for. I would use this book to teach students about a plant life cycle. This book would be great for students in 1st to 5th grade.
