This is my first time reading anything from this author and this is a nice sized book. I found the plot to be very confusing at first and so it was difficult to initially get into the book, I felt as confused as Annie was in the story. The characters are well written with great depth to them. The author does a wonderful job with her descriptive writing, so it was extremely easy for me to picture not only the scene but also the characters which helped me as a reader to empathize with them.
