I Can Be Kind: My First Manners Book

Scripture teaches us to love our neighbors by treating them with kindness and respect. One aspect of kindness includes manners. Parents are looking for fun, creative ways to teach their children polite behavior in a society where rudeness is often the status quo. We believe I Can Be Kind is a great resource for parents, grandparents, and Sunday school teachers as they seek to develop these behaviors in their children.

Amie Carlson is a freelance writer who has contributed to 365 Pocket Prayers for Mothers and Relevant magazine and written for Willow Creek Community Church and the Willow Creek Association. She is the mother of two grown children who loved to play dress-up when they were little. I was drawn to this picture book due to the title, since I have been working on teaching my children kindness. It can be hard to teach children kindness, other than leading by example, though I feel like this book helps.
The illustrations are adorable and it's written to engage kids. My daughter loves this book! I like that the book has scripture verses with each page set. The only downside to the book is that is not a board book and doesn't wear very well with young children. But, if you are looking for a good book on manners with scriptures for young children, then I highly recommend this one! It is an adorable book and we love the kid titles that Tyndale puts out.
I received this book from Tyndale in exchange for my honest review.

I was so eager to receive this book as I thought it would be an excellent resource to have on hand for my little one who I am very concerned with teaching proper manners to. This book is just as amazing as I was hoping for and is perfect for little ones as it is very clear and concise in talking about manners . I love the lift the flaps in the book too, I feel that makes the book all the more engaging and interesting to a little one. The content was wonderful and simple and the illustrations are adorable. All in all a first rate children's book.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a sweet book that helps kids think about how they can show kindness to others! It has flaps to help engage your child in the book. My daughter loves getting to see what is hidden behind the flap and learning more about how to help others. I love the pairing of actions with scripture.
