For the first time, here is the fundamental structure and foundation of Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Gung Fu, including: * footwork and mobility training * offensive and defensive hand techniques * simultaneous strike and block * basic kicking techniques * Jun Fan trapping * Lee's 5-Way attack drills Martial arts practitioners can learn the essentials of Jun Fan Gung Fu--a necessity before they expand their skills and explore their own path of Jeet Kune Do.
This book is like having gone to train in Jeet Kune Do and having collected not only an extensive notebook, but a photographic memory. Filled with useful training drills, a break down of certain concepts for better understanding , and more. This book is also very easy to read and understand what's going on. Whenever there's a new concept or term being used it is either broken down right their or contained in the glossary in the back of the book. So if you'd like to learn more about, in my opinion, the best martial art out there, this is a must read.
Jun Fan Gung Fu is Bruce Lee's preliminary approach to martial art training. A mix between Wing Chun silat, kickboxing. I'd say this is the base of Jeet Kune Do so anyone who wants to dig deep in his personal journey of training and discovery sifu Seaman's Book can be a very interesting starting point. The book is excelent to begin with but it does not deliver too deep insights or understaning of the method. Maybe the next chapter will approach more advanced practicioners. Still a worthy and useful read.
