This book should not be read by men who are by nature domineering. Since the day my husband read this book our marriage has suffered greatly. I do not recommend this for women who are in an abusive relationship whether that be emotional, mental, or physical, because it sends a message that a woman is supposed to be under the authority of the man whether or not he is stable. At one point the author up holds a woman to sainthood status because she stayed with the man who nearly beat her to death with a baseball bat - hitting her on the head . I would only recommend this book for stable people in a stable marriage where both parties have respect for the other person's dignity.

This book can get pretty intense, but its message is not one that you could just find anywhere. This is the first book I've read with real advice on submission, both of a woman to her husband (a beautiful Biblical lesson but also one that our culture likes to skirt around or explain away) and submission to God's order. This book is a rare find.
