In this day and age, the idea of a grown man crawling in a child's window at night is kind of creepy. Yes, I know this is perfectly innocent, but Shepperson's illustrations do nothing to alleviate the feeling. His characters have an otherworldly look, and the whole book has a weird, dream-like vibe to it. I'm not sure how children would respond to this one, but I didn't like it much.

The illustrations and writing in this book are excellent. I'm not sure why it's not more popular!!

While it might seem a bit creepy to be visited by The Sandman, this book takes it quite literally, illustrating the figures of speech that go along with going to sleep.
