About the author

C. M. Curtis brings a background of diverse experience to his writing. He grew up in a small western community in cattle ranching country. His paternal grandfather was a wild horse hunter in his youth and his maternal grandfather is said to have actually met Butch Cassidy. Curtis' first paying job, at twelve years of age, was in a slaughter house. He later became a construction worker, a truck driver, a structural steel welder, a coal miner and a licensed building contractor.

In what he calls his second life, he has been a chiropractic physician, a radio talk show host, a newspaper columnist and, of course, a writer.

A range war has started! Silent Mountain Guns didn't follow the normal canned western storyline. This one is a little more believable than most.

GREEDY WESTERNERS

Greedy ranch owners and even greedier children who want something for nothing. A poor woman whose been mistreated in fact there were many families who were run off their land. Again greed rears its ugly ugly head. Men who had their own personal hired guns to run roughshod over anyone or anything he felt were blocking his dream of dominance over the surrounding town.
Whenever "EVIL" rears its ugly head, lots of folks are either left hurt or dead. There isn't a middle only grief and unhappiness. This western adventure exposes the underbelly of greed, death and mistrust. Lots of action both physically and mentally, there's mystery and intrigue..

Interesting characters

The characters in this authors stories are always interesting. For once, even the baddest of the bad guys has a mother, who’s no angel. The old guy who owned the general store for forty years turns out to be not so old after all, and has a shocking back story. The uncool young son has a strange secret. And each of them acts out their part in the story according to their personality. Once again this author keeps us guessing as to where this story is going to go. Hard to put it down.

One of the best Western authors of our time. C.M. Curtis is my new favorite authors. Writes like he is reliving the story.

If you have ever been around a bunch of Senior Citizens who are reliving a happening when they were younger......then you know what Mr. Chris's stories will be like. You will believe he was there and it happened to him. I love it. This guy is my new favorite. He joins Louis Lamore, Zane Grey and a bunch of others.

This is a very intriguing book. I recommend it to everyone that considers themselves as a western fan to read this for themselves. The plot is one that will keep you on the edge of your chair, just read it. You might agree with me it is a greatat.

I enjoy this book and recommend it to all western fans. You will find yourself on the edge of your chair. This is a writer who can really wrap you up in the plot. There was absolutely not a thing I would say against it. Read it and see if you agree with me. Thank you.

I don't give out five stars for books unless I plan to read it again or the story has me so involved I feel like I'm in it. This was one of those. Lots of good, well written characters and plenty of action make this one of the best westerns I've read in a long time. The emotions shown by the characters made them come alive. Lots of good guys, plenty of bad guys, well written. Would recommend to western readers.

Wonderful!

Another great western by Mr. Curtis. I read it in an afternoon being unable to put it down. Non-stop, the story just kept developing and evolving. I highly recommend it to all lovers of Westerns!

Great story

Lots of action. It was hard to stop reading. I love this type of stories about and happy endings. Great book.
