This is a comprehensive collection of outline drawings showing the body's muscles, skeleton, organs and anatomical systems (nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lumph, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive), printed on one side of the page only. The process of colouring in the different parts of the body is a great aid to learning, making the book an ideal tool for all those studying anatomy at whatever level. Extended captions to the illustrations explain exactly what is being shown and give clues to the labelling of the diagrams. Students can then key in the labels to the illustrations as an additional learning device. With over 150 diagrams, this book is a thoroughly practical, interactive and enjoyable aid for all students of anatomy.
I'm not a student or in the healthcare profession, although I do spend plenty of time in the medical would as someone with chronic illness. But I've always been fascinated by medicine and the body and love any opportunity to learn more. There's lots of anatomy coloring books out there, but too many are either just coloring pages without any labels, or too much a study aid with fill in the blanks for each bone and muscle (etc). I really like this particular book, because each piece is numbered and labeled in the footnotes of the same page. The text is a little more academic then I expected, so I probably won't retain as much as I wanted... but it's pretty comprehensive and would be great for anyone from hobby to student level.
Side note: can you actually "read" a coloring book? 😅
This is a great book that introduces anatomy in a fun way. You can put it down and pick it up later. It also can teach a lot! It helped me see exactly how things are positioned inside the body.
