When Conrad meets a strange girl while practicing for the Arcane University entrance exam, she takes him through a crack in the world and into a mysterious realm called the Glimmer. Conrad's parents are seeking help from the Glimmer Queen so they can once again rule the Overworld.
The Glimmer holds secrets so ancient, they predate even the First Seraphim War, and a great power that could grant Conrad's parents immortality.
If Conrad can't find a way to convince the Glimmer Queen from helping his parents, evil will once again rule the Overworld.
Conrad has an interesting story. Guess he is finding who is real friends are. And the Neave/Cora connection, never passed my mind. That one blew my mind. But the whole time I am reading the Arcanum, I am wondering if we miss out on 6years of Justin's life and what he and Elyssa are doing.
Talk about the awkwardness of a new school. Throw in some bullies who want nothing more than to see you dead, Creepy teachers, and some major family drama and it makes for a very entertaining story. Oh did I mention lots of magic, madness & mystery. John Corwin really threw everything into this fantastic adventure. It’s quite a roller coaster ride, with some surprises along the way. Well done!! This is book 2 in this series. This is a spin-off from the Overworld Chronicles and I highly recommend all of these books/series.
Conrad Edison enrolls in Arcane University with his best friends and begins a rollicking adventure. Frankly, this series wouldn't exist, in my opinion, if the Harry Potter books had never been written. There are a few homages to Harry Potter in this book which I found amusing. But the rest of the story stands on its own.I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
The second book of Conrad Edison and is still a great spin-off (starting to think it’s not really a spin off lol) I’m lucky to have found the kindle unlimited catching up on these books that I guess been missing out on, I will now start the third book but please know that the serious is one to read and give it a try at least it’s worth it.
Great addition to the series. Still able to see the Harry Potter influences, but it is also it's own unique story native to the Overworld universe. Safe to say I enjoyed this story.
