A cross cultural eye-opener!
My manager lent this to me after I recommended he reads "The Wrath of The Ancestors", an English translation of the isiXhosa classic "Ingqumbo Yeminyanya". I'm stunned by the similarities between the Indian and the Xhosa community!

What intrigued me the most here is the use of language, the ease of the writing style and the Humour. I'm not one for short stories but this, I enjoyed!

*Read halfway through and could not continue*

Unclear whether certain undertones of destructive and defamatory ideologies were intentional and meant to critique South African Indian prejudices and beliefs or a symptom of that mindset.

Some stories were engaging for a short time but ultimately held little depth and ineffectively conveyed the raw emotion that should have been present in the characters. Overall the writing style is simple and precise.
