The Past

Rate this book
Darkness seems to crowd in tight as Ellie tries to keep her head above the storm. Jacob's struggle to fight back whatever had him locked in a coma leaves her feeling more alone than ever before. To reach for Victor or David seems trite and leaves her more confused than she's willing to admit.

As her time with Veronica unfolds, she learns new truths about how Equilibrium came to be, where it draws it strength and why this new entity is hell-bound on destroying them.

With no one in the present to trust, Ellie runs to the past and finds refuge in the arms of the one who was called to ignite Equilibrium.

Kate has been reading almost longer than she's been walking. It's her first love, as she's sure it might just be yours too. She's a full-time writer and entrepreneur at heart. With more ideas than one person should be allowed, she is blessed to have a muse that doesn't seem to take a vacation and more energy that one might consider healthy.

Her focus is on paranormal and fantasy romance with the occasional urban fantasy thrown in for fun. She's spent most of her life wondering about the 'unseen' far more than what we're able to touch, see and feel. There just has to be more than we can access. She's sure of it.

Just Wow.....

Ellie finally understands why her father left them. As the Core, he chose love above all else and paid the ultimate sacrifice. She loves David and Victor, but the answer of the being together has not yet been heard. The evil is after her and her brother is developing powers similar to hers. What it means will be devastating. Nothing is as it seems.

This book is fantastic and you must read it to discover who the evil is. You may or may not be surprised.

Wow, just WOW.
The last paragraph of this book is what I was waiting for and I squee'ed with delight when I read it. (NO peeking if you have not finished the book yet!)
This is another brilliant instalment in the Equilibrium series, I have thoroughly enjoying all four books to date, they have been easy to read and have given me something to look forward to whilst I have had issues in the real world.
Kate Thomas is a brilliant and thought provoking writer, throughout The Past and the Equilibrium series as a whole she has kept me second guess, on the edge of my seat but maintains her diversity as a writer to keep the characters interactions witty.
I love the main six characters in this series and how they have developed further in the forth instalment. I still worry for our leading lady but was glad when someone from her past offers some much needed advice. At the same time I also wanted to stomp my feet and shout about the "new" character.
I love David and Victor equally, I can not chose between the two, please don't make me!
I can not wait for the next book in the series, where I hope to find answers to all my questions.
The past is an excellent book and I would recommend it to both friends and family.

This, the penultimate book in the series, is tense. Much more so than the previous books. Ellie is struggling with the responsibility and with her self confidence. As a result, this book seems much darker, with a feeling of hopelessness. However as counterpoint to that, there is an element of yearning to this story which is apparent in Ellie's conflict - not only between the light and the dark of her role as the core, but with the men who represent those elements.

The author has done a really good job of immersing the reader in Ellie's emotions. And it is apparent that we are building to an explosive climax in Book 5. And I, for one, can't wait.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Spectacularly full of suspense, passion, and inner turmoil!

This series just gets better with each book. The core, Elle, is so torn with indecision, passion, a touch of hate, and definite confusion. To move on and strike the balance for her group of angels as the core she must learn to conquer the past. Her past is torn with unfairness and a touch of anger, maybe more than a touch. Where there are angels there must be an opposition. See just where Satan fits into this story.

Things are definitely falling apart for Ellie & Equilibrium in this installment of the series. As she journeys into the past Ellie can finally lay to rest some of the demons she's been living with but whilst there discovers theres more at work than just the 5 members of the team.

Living this series by Kate Thomas and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Bring on The Darkness.

This is book 4. I am really enjoying this series.
Ellie has so much pressure on her to learn all she needs that even with help things seem to go wrong. I was stressed for her!
I believe Victor is my new favorite.
Can't wait for the next/last book
