FOUR PLAYER STARS.

"One touch two years ago was not enough ..."

description

Everything about this book was pointing towards a gorgeous reading time. The title had me interested, the cover is stunning and the blurb had me giddy excited ready to spend my time with a man whore hero and a feisty heroine. Overall I'm glad to report that once again BJ Harvey delivered what I was expecting and I can't deny that I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with characters that had me smiling from beginning to end.

What's it all about?
Those who have read BJ Harvey's 'Bliss' series will be familiar with this authors canny ability to put together an impressive romantic comedy. Following on from her success of this series Harvey has created a new spin off series to fall in love with. The first book in the series brings us the story of Matt Taylor and Mia Roberts. Both unable to avoid the attraction between them both equally unprepared for the challenge of their game. Be prepared to laugh, swoon and cheer this couple from the sidelines as Harvey delivers yet another fantastic romance.

description

What did I love?
I loved the banter between the characters, I loved the way the hero had no choice but to fall in love even though he had no intention of being in a committed relationship. I adored that the heroine didn't just roll over and accept his advances and I couldn't get enough of this authors ability to make me smile like only a crazy, romance book addict would understand. BJ Harvey has written a brilliantly witty and lusty start to what I know is going to be a fabulous spin off series and I can already forsee that this is going to be a set of books that will be right up my street. It's obvious from the start that Matt and Mia are perfectly matched and even though I had my niggles (only a few) I loved watching this love story unfold. A little predictable? Possibly, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. BJ Harvey has an adorable way of sweeping me off my feet and transporting me right into her romance and comedy.

Why not five?
It's hard to come up with much to disagree with when reading a romantic comedy style book by BJ Harvey. Her books are just my cup of tea and there's rarely a moment to not enjoy with her quick wit and comedy gold one liners. Alas, my five star radar didn't quite signal this time around. A little on the short side? Maybe. Not quite falling head over heels for the heroine? I think so. Did I struggle with some of the conflict. Yes. All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable romance, just not enough to make me convinced that it was five star worthy.

description

Final thoughts ...
BJ Harvey is an author that has plenty to bring to the table when it comes to a romantic comedy. I don't know many other authors who are able to string together so many brilliant one liners and for that alone it makes me want to pick up all of her releases. Thoroughly romantic and hotter than a spa day session in a sauna, Harvey always hits the spot with her character connection and steamy encounters. Whether or not you've been a fan of this author before 'Game player' is a romance that will sweep you of your feet whilst giving you a fabulous comedy journey and I can't wait for more from this series and author. Enjoy ... Kisses.

  WHATEVER !!! 2 STARS JUST FOR MATT . . .

WOW ... I'am REALLY REALLY disappointed ...

I thought this would be 4 or 5 star read for me .. but mehhhh!!

I think author did all the thinking just for the synopsis & then forgot it all ...

I really didn't liked the h ... well like is not the right word, i HATED her! Mia was so judgy. Like comeon girl it's not like you are a virgin and all. If he was a manwhore so let it be it was his past.. But NO she was all judging him about his past and not even giving him a fair chance.

Mia really made me on the verge of DNF'ing this book.

But i wanted to see how much she is dragging Matt on the verge for him to leave her. But he didn't leave her. begged her till the end.

So really this book was just about ..

Mia pushing poor Matt because he USED to have alot of sex with the ladies with no strings attached.

When Mia herself NEVER had a relationship with anyone.

Now how could you judge anyone when you yourself is NOT SO SUBTLE ..

Matt, how can i forget him, poor guy did all he can for "the bitch" Mia. but didn't get any appreciation till the end. If i was in Mia's shoes, i would've jumped on his bones. But no Mia was soooooooooo good to be with him. Right?? yeah right! I was sooo bored just reading her POV and her bitchy attitude toward Matt at 25% but I HAVE to complete it because of MATT.

And the Plot was really bad too..
So, for me i DO NOT recommend this book to anyone.
Nor i would read any book of this series and will not repeat this mistake to re-read it.!!

This book has literally sucked all the energy out of my body. It was exhausting. I'm having to use my nose to write this review because my limbs no longer work.

We started well, the writing was enjoyable so it was easy to read and Matt had a nine-incher which always helps. But, that's where my positive words end and my rant starts.

It wasn't even the whole manwhore thing that bothered me (I can deal with that). It was Mia.

description

The whole 'woe is me my Daddy cheated on my Mummy and then died so all men are dirty untrustworthy pigs that only want to stuff me with their pork swords and then leave me. Waa waa waa' *SNORES SELF INTO A COMA*
It went on and on and I ended up HATING this stupid bitch because JEEZ LADY YOU HAVE A HANDSOME HUNG MAN THAT IS WILLING TO GIVE YOU EVERYTHING RIGHT THERE and you're carrying on about useless shit instead of listening to one word he's saying.

description

On top of that, I didn't find the sexual nicknames particularly funny. A lot of them had me cringing. It was too much. As were a lot of the group scenes. Everyone seems to be related in some way and have 2 million kids each, all of whom we need to know the names and ages of apparently. It was just too much.

But, if you like your stories over the top and your lead females stupid, then you'll enjoy this. It's a shame really because the writing was good.

Can't say I'm really disappointed considering it didn't really pull me in in the beginning. I didn't like Mia. Thought she was a bitch who didn't deserve Matt and was all judgy towards him. She got not respect from, that's what I'm saying.
Why did I ever think I could play the player at his own game?

BJ Harvey sets the tone for the Game Series, with this hysterical and at times emotional release. Game Player features Matt Taylor, the boy made famous in the Bliss Series by his scratch n’ stiff technique. Younger brother to Noah Taylor (the original Walking Dildo), Matt; the mini walking dildo, soon proves there is nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing mini about him.

Mia Roberts, who happens to be Zander’s little sister (Bliss) has some loose family ties to Matt. You see, Matt’s brother married Mia’s sister (you still with me?) so not only does she know his fame for the cut n’ run romance moves that Matt rocks, he also knows that she isn’t the relationship type of gal either. But things are bound to get complicated with the connections these two share run this deep. But they weren’t thinking about the consequences when they have a hot little encounter in a closet at a wedding two years ago and when Matt still can’t get her out of his head, nothing is going to stand in his way, even if that ‘thing’ is Mia.

One of my favorite types of heroes are the sorts that like to sleep around but when they find the one, they go all in. We like to call these the man-whores of the romance community. Matt Taylor certainly wears that crown with pride but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want more out of life than just a quick lay and an easy goodbye in the morning.

I loved Matt. It didn’t take long for me to start to see this softer vulnerable side of him. I felt horrible that so many didn’t see him as mature or worthy. It broke my heart even as BJ had me in fits of giggles. I wanted to stand up and shout that he was more than just the dick in his pants! I loved how much he jumped into the whole deal with Mia. He knew what he wanted and he went after it.

Then that leaves Mia. Poor, poor confused Mia. It was obvious that she was harboring some issues when it came to commitment. Repeating the mistakes her mother made, falling for a man that could wreck her, use her and leave her for someone else; was her greatest fear. Falling for Matt Taylor, the very definition of man-whore wasn’t the greatest idea she’s ever had. I didn’t love Mia, but I didn’t hate her. I think I saw enough of her insecurities to make sense of her behavior but that didn’t mean that she did not leave me frustrated. But this was a rom-com so although some moments of this book did hit some emotional moments, it still remained lighthearted.

I loved the chemistry between these two. I loved getting to have extra time with the cast of Bliss, but most of all, I loved getting to watch Matt Taylor fall on his ass, head over heels in love with the one woman that could give him a run for his money when it came to serious relationships.

Of all the books I’ve read from BJ (and I’ve read them all), this is my favorite. I can’t wait for the rest of this series and to get to know the other characters.

I still hate you." She mutters under her breath.
"You can hate me and still fuck me. In fact, if you go off like that every time I make you come, you're welcome to hate-fuck me any time you want."

I've been on a rom kick lately so when the author offered me a chance to read Game Player, I jumped on it. This was my first book by BJ Harvey and all I can say after finishing is, where has she been all my life? Game Player is full of wickedly hilarious banter, sizzling hot romance, and a cast of characters that I completely fell in love with. I had a goofy smile on my face for most of the book (some parts I wanted to throttle the heroine), but that may have been because I wanted Matt for myself. Nothing wrong with a little heroinecide. I'm totally making that a word, by the way. But I digress...
Knowing you, you'd probably try and turn up early to witness the walk of shame."
"If you've done it right, it should always be a stomp of satisfaction. Have I taught you nothing?

Matt Taylor is a player in every sense of the word. He's the hit it and quit it type and not one for settling down. But one drunken hookup at a wedding 18 months ago changed his relationship with Mia irrevocably. They may not have spoken of it since, but eventually the sparks between them prove too hot to ignore.
Don't you worry about me, legs. There's a whole black book worth of willing volunteers."
"Legs?"
"Well I can't call you Tits, can I?"
"You're a piece of work, Taylor."
"It's okay to admit you want me, Mia."

Mia is a sassy, call them like she sees them type of chick. She sees nothing wrong with giving in to the undeniable urges between her and Matt, but that's it. Matt may want something more, or so he says, but how can she trust a player like him?
Why did I ever think I could play the player at his own game?

I absolutely loved Matt. His internal dialogue gave me many a giggle, and the man has a hell of a mouth on him when it comes to the dirty talk.
Jesus, are you trying to kill me?
"No, Legs, I don't want to kill you. I want to make you moan. I want you to whimper, and I want you to scream my name when I'm balls deep inside you. My mouth is going to claim you, my hands are going to explore you, and my cock will make you mine-even if you only ever give me one night."

Ovaries. CUMbusted.

But in all seriousness, I couldn't get enough of him. You can see how much he struggles with his feelings for Mia when she doesn't trust him with that. Mia was a source of frustration for me for much of the duration of the book. I wanted to throttle her for the way she acts with Matt at times. But on the other hand, it kept their antics lively and angsty, so in the grand scheme of things, it didn't take much away form my enjoyment.

Admittedly, it took me a bit to really wrap my mind around all the characters. I believe this is a spin off from BJ's Bliss series, and many of the characters from that series have a cameo here. As this was my first book, it took my puny brain a bit to get a hang of everything, but once I did, I was right in the swing of things.

All in all, Game Player was a sexy and hilarious read that I enjoyed thoroughly. This is an author that will surely be my go-to whenever I need a book to put a smile on my face while making my ovaries happy.

That book had the potential and it could have been a sweet and cute love story with a gorgeous & swoon-worthy hero and a sassy heroine but alas, it failed in many ways.

First of all, the heroine got more and more annoying all along the book. Her stupid actions made me feel that she did not deserve HIM!

Secondly, I wanted to throw my kindle away when the most unoriginal plot twist was served AGAIN! Come on, I am begging all writers to please find something other than an

Hence, 2 points for the first quarter of the book, and nothing else after it started to become annoying and boring.

Game Player (Game #1) by BJ Harvey
4.5 stars!!

“You want this to be wrong but to me, it’s always been right.”

BJ Harvey never fails to make me laugh and smile when reading one of her books and Game Player was no different, with fantastic dialogue BJ Harvey really nailed her character’s sense of humour and made these characters come to life. This is one of the things I adore when reading, characters you can really relate to, characters you want to be friends with and most importantly by the end you actually believe you are.

For those that have read the “Bliss Series” Matt is Noah’s brother, Noah was affectionately known as “The Walking Dildo” and as Matt is younger his affectionate title is “Mini Walking Dildo.” If the names are anything to go by you know you are going to have a giggle. However, if you have not read The Bliss series…don’t panic, you don’t need to have read them, but I would recommend them as they are highly entertaining.

Game Player is Matt and Mia’s story…are you ready to be confused? So we have Matt…Matt is Mia’s brother-in-law’s brother…and we have Mia who is Matt’s sister-in-law’s sister…clear? Basically, their elder siblings married each other and did I say they were protective?

Matt has a reputation, hence the title, he is a man of meaningless hook ups and the women know what they are getting before he even goes there. He didn’t want attachments but his reputation precedes him and deep down, the man underneath the bravado was nothing like the cocky façade he had put firmly in place. Matt was a man wanting recognition and respect from his father, a man who wanted to find “the one,” a man who had actually grown up and yet no-one else could see it. Nobody saw the real “Matt,” he just wanted to be taken seriously.

“Au contraire, little-dicked one, married life means I never wake up alone and therefore never have to take my one-eyed trouser snake in hand unless my wife is begging to watch me do it.”

Mia is the female version of Matt, another one that cannot settle down, doesn’t want to settle down. Mia was sassy, she’s got quick wit and can cut anyone down to size with a well-timed barb and she was as stubborn as a mule. I must admit, I found it hard in the beginning to really relate to her but as the story evolved and back stories are told I came to understand her.

“It’s just that I don’t want to be in a relationship. I’m all about the date and not about the mate.”

So…we have two players…and herein lies the biggest issue…never trust a player. With two people that were content on playing the field when it comes to finally getting serious there was always going to be trust issues, security issues…am I being played issues. Matt knew what he wanted and he knew he had found “the one” with Mia, but Mia needed a lot more convincing.

“The ball’s in your court now, and it has to be you that makes the next play because I’m all out of moves.”

The chemistry between Matt and Mia will seriously melt your kindles and set your pages on fire. One thing that BJ Harvey writes extremely well are intense, hot, steamy bedroom scenes and this book does not disappoint. Their attraction to one another crackled off the pages but the reticence and hesitance from Mia wanted you to slap her a few times and beg her to see the genuineness behind Matt’s actions and words.

The more I read the more I fell in love with Matt and that is testament to BJ Harvey’s writing because she really captured Matt’s evolution from a horny player to a dedicated, serious adult. Through work and his relationship with Mia his change was dramatic but that man had always been there, he just needed to show it.

“…you know you want me. I know you want me. I just need you to give me a chance.”

I loved that we caught up with the whole Bliss crowd, while this is most definitely Matt and Mia’s story they all had their part to play. Another winner from BJ Harvey.

This is a spin off from B.J. Harvey’s Bliss series, featuring secondary characters from that series, and still with lots of interaction with the main Bliss couples, which I loved!

Game Player brings us the story of Matt and Mia. Matt is the younger brother of Noah, and Mia is the younger sister of both Zander and Zoe. They have a fantastic set up – Matt is an unapologetic player, and Mia loves to date, but has no interest in a long term relationship - they are both confident in themselves, and in what they want from the opposite sex, and their chemistry together is sizzling! Matt and Mia have known each other for years as their siblings (Noah and Zoe) married each other, but despite a sort-of hook up at the wedding, they haven’t had a lot to do with each other. But a chance encounter a few years later shows a highly flirtatious love/hate relationship with hilarious, smart and smutty banter and a simmering sexual tension that is hugely entertaining!

“Got an itch you can’t scratch, Matt?”
…“Don’t you worry about me, Legs. There’s a whole black book worth of willing volunteers.”
“Legs?” I ask, taking my purse out of his hands.
“Well I can’t call you Tits, can I?”
“You’re a piece of work, Taylor.”
“It’s okay to admit you want me, Mia,” he says cockily.
“For what? The medical experiment known as your dick?”

They’re both clearly interested in each other, but Mia is nervous about the familial link between them, and of course there’s her whole “date, don’t mate” mentality. Matt doesn’t care about any of that in the slightest, and goes all out to win Mia over, and things between them start to morph into something a bit more real.

“Bring it on, Legs.”
“Still don’t get the legs thing,” she mutters.
“Because every time I see them I imagine them wrapped around my head.”
She chokes down the phone, and then the line goes eerily quiet.
“Mia?”
“I’m here. Just hitting pause on that mental image and saving it for later.”
“Jesus, woman. Warn a guy before you throw out the Viagra lines.”
“What?” she says, with a knowing giggle.
“Those kind of words take a man from floppy to stabby in zero-point-five seconds.”

Yes, it’s not long before the inevitable hook up happens, and it’s super-hot and proves to them both that what they have can no longer be denied, and their one night together is never going to be enough.

“This is insane,” I breathe, my body sagging against his when his fingers run down my face and around the back of my neck.
“It’s crazy, but that’s what makes it so fucking hot.”

So, for the first time, two game players decide to take a chance on something more, and find that they have something truly special together.

“You and me. We’re going to do this,” I murmur against her lips. “Dates, dinners, holding hands, all of that shit. I’ll be in your bed and you’ll be in mine … I can’t stop thinking about you, Legs, and I don’t fucking want to.”

This is a really enjoyable read. The relationship between Matt and Mia is fun, flirty and sexy, with a growing emotional connection that is gorgeous to watch. And in amidst all of the hotness, is some really gorgeous swooniness as their love story develops, and I totally fell for Matt as he worked to prove that he has turned over a new leaf

“It’s all you, Mia … You’re different from the rest. I tried to resist the temptation, but all it took was one taste and you had me. Everywhere I look, everything I do, every spare moment of every single day, all I see is you. All I want is you.”

There is some drama (of course), and though I was expecting some kind of conflict, I must admit that found this one to be OTT and really freaking annoying. But it all ends in a good place, and I was happy with the way the book finished, and am looking forward to seeing more of Matt and Mia as the series progresses.

And a highlight of all of that drama was watching the rest of the gang involve themselves in the unfolding events. I loved the chance to catch up and see where they were all at, and the way they had the backs of both Matt and Mia as their story played out was gorgeous to see.

Overall, I did enjoy this one. I would have rated it higher if it weren’t for the epic stupid, but for the most part, this was a really enjoyable read – lots of fun, with great characters, fantastic banter, and a gorgeously romantic and sexy love story. I love the set up for the next book in the series, and am looking forward to continuing on.

3.5 stars.

Comedy and heat all wrapped up neatly in Game Player!

This story is definitely a brilliant mix of scorching hot and hilariously funny. Matt and Mia are our couple that just can’t seem to get together. Why? Because as much as Matt pulls, Mia pushes. Matt, also known as the Mini Walking Dildo (nothing to do with his size), has his sights set on one woman. Mia Roberts.

Mia has it stuck in her head that dating Matt would be full of complications. Since her sister is married to Matt’s brother. So technically they’re related. But, actually they’re not. Of course, the connection between the two is familial. So there begs to be there question, when will the drama start?

Matt is the ultimate man-whore, he’s hot, sexy, and he goes after what he wants. I loved Matt, his character was fun to get to know, and yea, definitely left my panties on fire. The chemistry in this book was hot, but sweet. This is definitely a fun book. Loved it!

~ 5 "Legs" Stars ~

Oh how nice to have the Bliss gang back together!!! I have missed them so much and couldn’t wait to read this spin off series.

Game Player is the first book in BJ Harvey’s Game Series. It’s a spin off of the Bliss Series. She is giving us the siblings of the Bliss gang in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, almost as much as the original series.

This was a fun, sexy and sweet friends to lovers story. As with every book I read by Ms. Harvey, I devoured this story. I couldn’t put it down, because I totally got sucked into these characters lives. This book was a fairly quick read without a lot of excess drama. Actually the only drama that is caused is at the fault of the main characters themselves. Mia couldn’t get past some of her hangups and couldn’t let the past with her father go. She really was her own worst enemy. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well with this story. It might seem to other readers to be an insta love type plot, but really it isn’t….their story has been building for over 2 years.

In the Game Player we follow the journey of Matt and Mia. Matt is known as min Walking Dildo, because he is the younger brother of Noah (The original Walking Dildo from Book #4 Finding Bliss in the Bliss Series) Mia is the sister of Zander and Zoe. (Zander is from book #2 True Bliss and Zoe is from Book #4 Finding Bliss, she married Noah) Now that you have the family links to these characters, you can see how they have been friends for years. Matt and Mia first hook up at Zoe and Noah’s wedding, but then Mia just walks away. Now two years later, Matt is ready to fight for the girl he wants. Both of these two characters are commitment phobes. Neither one ever wanting to settle down….or at least not until they get to know one another better. Over the course of their story we get to watch them become better people and break down each others walls. Will Matt be able to make Mia believe he is a changed man and make her realize he isn’t like her father and is in it for the long haul??? You’ll have to read the book to find out!!!

Game Player was an excellent start to this new series and I can already tell I am going to be just as addicted to this series as I was to the Bliss Series. I love the characters of this story and I love that we got to reunite with the old characters from the Bliss Series. This group of friends are amazing and makes me wish I was a part of their group.

This book is a standalone novel and the Bliss series does not have to be read first, but as I have always recommended with interconnected standalone books, I think the Bliss series should be read before this series, so that the reader can truly connect with all the characters we meet in this book. If you are a fan of BJ Harvey’s, then you don’t want to miss out on this new series or the chance to reconnect with some old friends. If she is a new author to you, dive in and I hope you thoroughly enjoy her books like I have!!!

Let the games begin .... God Almighty where has B.J. Harvey been all my life?!

This is a classic story of a man~whore brought to his knees and girl~whore who fell right with him! There is no way that anyone that picks up this book is not completely captivated by these two, their chase, their scrimmage to the finish line and their sweet victory at the end of the race :) They both played the game and they played to #win! (see what I did there LOL)

So, I was ridiculously entertained by the entire book. Matt and Mia could not have made a better couple. The story itself was fun and sexy with lots of little feels thrown in! huge *happy sigh* :)

I'll be keeping my eye out for BJ's work from now on!

I thought this book would be very different than what it actually was. I really hated the heroine in this book! She was so judgemental of her love interest, and yet I could understand why she was. I hated how much of a player Matt was, and I really couldn't believe in their romance at all. I had a hard time connecting with the characters at all, so I don't think this author's work is for me. I doubt I will continue with the series.

Loved this book!! Game Player is a MUST read for anyone looking for a hilariously sexy read.

There is nothing sweeter than finding a new set of characters to fall in love with. As someone who is new to reading B.J. Harvey's books, this was an amazing story to begin that journey. Game Player is a spin-off to the author's best-selling Bliss Series Boxed Set: The Whole Damn Harem. But DO NOT stress if you haven't read it because you will have no trouble following along. It's completely unique on it's own.

Game Player is Matt and Mia's emotional story. They are two people with very real problems making it incredibly easy to connect with these characters. The sexual tension and chemistry between these two was off the charts --> CRAZY HOT! I loved every minute of their angsty & passionate romance.

I instantly fell for Matt's sexy charms and that mouth of his {ow ow}.
"No, Legs, I don't want to kill you. I want to make you moan. I want you to whimper, and I want you to scream my name when I'm balls deep inside you. My mouth is going to claim you, my hands are going to explore you, and my cock will make you mine--even if you only ever give me one night."

Mia is an awesome female lead, she is funny and sassy, but not without her faults. I loved seeing her character grow and overcome her fears where men and relationships are concerned.

"Look, I know we're the tag-alongs on this porn marathon of a date, but it's common courtesy to at least acknowledge the person you're out with before you grope them."

Ms. Harvey's writing is lively and detailed in all the right places. She brings a breath of fresh air to contemporary romance. The dialogue between the characters was incredibly witty, but also beautifully poignant when needed.

I am very excited for the next installment of the series, Game Maker.

Well this was a very schmexy read. When you have two main characters who are both players, I guess the steam factor was always going to be there but this was seriously hot!

"He's a player." "Oh honey, I can see that. But the only game he wants to play is you, if you'll let him."

Matt Taylor definitely has his work cut out for himself if he plans to get anywhere near Mia's body of sexiness. She does not suffer fools and can see right through his suggestive flirtations. Only problem is that even though she is telling him to back off, her body is telling her something else. Ever since the night they kissed and he gave her an incredible orgasm, her interest in him has been piqued.

"Legs, you'll never have any reason to doubt my ability. Between my fingers, mouth and cock, I'll keep you so satisfied, you'll lose track of time." - Matt

These two can't avoid each other seeing as their older siblings are married to each other and lately, whenever Mia sees Matt with his nephew Nate she has this stirring in her ovaries. Mia loves sex but not relationships, something she has in common with Matt. Could a FWB arrangement work for this couple? If Matt wasn't developing feelings for Mia it might. How can a player convince another player that this is a whole different level? What will her sister and his brother have to say about what has been going on and would the consequences be worth it? And taking all that into account , why can't he seem to stay away from Mia?

I read a lot of books and feel like I have been conditioned to have everything all nicely sewn up in an epilogue and even though this was delivered, it wasn't over delivered and I really liked that. It makes me look forward to the next book in this series and the possibility of future glimpses of Matt or Mia.

BJ Harvey, once again, gives us laughs, tears, and TONS of sexy times in GAME PLAYER, a first in a new spin-off series that features some of my favorite characters from her BLISS series. I can't tell you how excited I was when I heard that this series was in the works. I absolutely adored the BLISS series, and I knew that this author would rock out the sexy laughs, yet again, in the GAME series. BJ Harvey has no problem giving us characters that are so damn easy to fall in love with. Matt and Mia are just two more examples of that. Their chemistry was hilarious and electric, sexy and intense. The banter between the two, my GOD, was just freaking hilarious. If you are looking for a sexy Romantic Comedy that brings out all the feels, GAME PLAYER should be your next One-Click purchase. Whether it's new characters, old characters, and everyone in between, BJ Harvey gives romance readers what they crave - a fantastic balance of funny, sexy, and sweet.

If this is just a taste of what's to come with this brand new series, SIGN ME UP for the rest! Anytime I get to spend with these amazing characters, is an ultimate WIN in my book! With page after page of HEAT and HILARITY, it's no wonder I keep going back for more.

"I’m a gamer by nature and by profession. I’m all about strategy, performance, and coming out on top.”

Game Player is a spin-off of the Bliss series, but don’t stress it if you haven’t read it. This happens to be my first by B.J. Harvey, but won’t be my last. I am most certainly going to be reading the others now.

Game Player is a hilarious, witty romance between Matt and Mia. Matt’s brother married Mia’s sister. So in some odd way these two are related, but only by marriage. Matt is a man whore. He has slept with almost all the women in a fifty mile radius, and is proud of his game. Mia has some major issues of her own when it comes to commitments.

I was so happy when the games slowed down and these two got together. These two are HOT together. Matt falls hard for Mia, odd because he has never really settled down. So it throws Mia off, and she isn’t ready to trust him. I loved Matt! He is sexy and smooth, but oh so romantic. He may not have been looking for the one, but sometimes we find the things we aren’t looking for right in front of us.

I’m going to be honest, at points I wanted to slap Mia. I mean she has this great man giving her everything most women want, and she keeps pushing him away.

This is a fabulous book, where two unlikely people really do get what they need.

This book was incredible. Bj really made you laugh, made you get frustrated at one of the characters, and turned you on oh so quickly. She can write sexy times like nobody's business. She will also make you truly sympathy, empathy, and love. I also loved the closeness of familt. It was very easy to rate this 5 stars. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!

Matt has a reputation as the player, but so does Mia. She plays em just as well as any guy can. When you have a father that cheated on your mother, it can change a girl. Poor Mia. She is so afraid to open her heart to anyone because she just thinks she knows that they will break her heart. It doesn't help that Matt has never been a relationship guy.

Mia can't resist his charms and sexiness. He is like walking sex on a stick or Mini Walking Dildo as they call him. lol. The problem is that she doesn't believe Matt truly has an interest in her outside of scoring. She couldn't be more wrong. Matt tries hard to prove that her but she won't budge. She's as stubborn as a mule.

I loved seeing the plot unfold and see Matt and Mia get through struggles. I highly recommend this even if you haven't read The Bliss series. I haven't got to it yet and I wasn't lost at all. If anything, I know want to go read it even more.

As with all of the other books I’ve read from this author, this one is well written and holds your attention. Overall, I really liked the plot but the execution was just a bit off for me. I loved Matt but Mia was way to judgmental and worried about what others think for my personal taste. I also thought she was a bit of a hypocrite at times and when Matt called her out on it at one point, I couldn’t help but to cheer him on!

There were some things I didn’t care for in this story but they’re personal preference. Unfortunately, it was enough that it kept me on the verge of really liking it so I have to stick with 3 stars. That’s also the reason why I didn’t find it as funny as others did.

Even though this isn’t my favorite BJ Harvey book, it won’t be my last. I look forward to future stories.

I really liked this book. It was the first book I read in the Bliss series, but I wasn't confused by any of the characters. I liked getting to know Mia and Matt who was the "manwhore"
Mia was confused at times and didn't want to commit, (which kind of bugged me) but Matt wouldn't give up.
I really liked their chemistry together and how there were some funny parts too!
