The Beginning addresses the inconsistencies in the traditional interpretation of the Fall in Genesis and offers a different way of understanding the biblical account while maintaining the historicity of the account and offering solutions in a theologically orthodox framework.
This is a very well researched and thought out book. The topic is looking into our understanding of the temptation of Eve and the eating of the fruit in the Garden of Eden. The author challenges some traditional views but in a very well thought out way. The later chapters deal with the death of infants and understanding if they go to heaven or not and then the last chapter is on the roles of men and women in the home and church. He is a complementarian. I found this book very helpful. It filled in some gaps in my prior reading and understanding. I am not quite sure if I agree with him over the chapter on infants, but I will be thinking on that some more. Very worth reading.
