Interesting in that it shows several remarkable settings and decors for restaurants around the world. These decors vary from quite attractive to the absurd. One of the sillier restaurants depicted, somewhere in Europe I think, is a huge platform with a table and chairs that is hoisted by a huge crane about 100 feet into the air. The service and dining is done up in the air.
I did like some of the innovative ideas for setting and decor, but many I found to be simply silly and were clearly intended to attract customers from the sheer novelty of it all. I am all for attractive decor even in an interesting setting; but offbeat or even strange settings or decor, like the example I gave above, by itself isn't enough for me. The food had better be worthwhile if restaurateurs want my business.
So since this book does capture many of the more novel and extreme settings for restaurants around the world, I would say that the author achieved her goal.
