This book was not meant to be a page turner, but it is a good realistic look at life during the Civil war.

This was a sweet, personal look into one mans' experience in the civil war. This book is a compilation of Eli Landers' letters to his mother and other family members. I learned about the conditions of the war through his eyes, which obviously made the history come alive.
