A good read. Would have been better to have read 35 years ago. It is interested, however to read how Canada was governed during the War. Also much of The development of our citizenship act and other programs and policies to make Canada an independent country also made for good reading.

He was greater in life than the book explains, but that was in his character. The Right Honorable Paul Martin (the elder, the younger became PM) has not received the type of historical memory he deserves in Canada. But the book documents his life as the way he spoke, and it is a smooth and well organized work.
