Short but a good start

I just retired and wanted some basics in starting a garden. So far I have only used containers for my yearly tomatoes but this is the first year I have enough time to actually work my half acre in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. I'm starting by created a compost bin in the back and clearing the weeds. I have a problem with poison ivy so this has to be my first step. I will be using raised beds so I am investigating all the types that I can use. Since most of my earth is clay I have to work out the proper mix. It's going to be interesting.
