A found this to be a highly satisfying read

The characters are very well defined- each manifesting their own colorful expression/agenda. The settings are delightful- for me the elegance of the settings was most pleasing and yet within lies a mysterious and on times bizarre plot line which serves to keep one intrigued to keep turning page after page to get to the 'truth' of what is going on 'behind the scenes' so to speak, but one also gains a sense of curiosity and we end up as hungry for the answers as some of the characters. There is always something about drama and mystery within luxurious settings which is just a little irresistible.

The sexual encounters are written very nicely; not pornographic but certainly not dispassionate or mechanical- enough to get you quite excited even if you don't happen to be one of the frisky readers which might enjoy this story that little more!

It turns out to be quite a dramatic story (though I won't reveal anything here for obvious reasons), but it is also psychological, not so psychological that it is overbearing, but it is generous in the insight it provides and therefor helpful. The story turns out to possess a loving spirit as one discovers towards the later stages but you can only appreciate how when you give it a read.

I really enjoyed this one, highly recommended

A fascinating contemporary Gothic novel. It is many things ...a Romance, a mystery, suspense, a thriller and contains erotic scenes. However it appears to blend together in equal measures and makes The Counterfeit Wife a gripping read.
When Mara marries Edmund in a marriage of convenience, little does she know what lies ahead.
Her own passionate nature leads to adventure, whilst her curiosity uncovers secrets which should have remained hidden..
As the story unfolds, Mara finds mre and more discrepancies in Edmunds past and the appearance of a mystery figure in black reveals that the Manor itself hold hidden dangers.
Mara herself becomes in danger and mortal peril. Without help she will not survive. Will she find a saviour ....and maybe a lover?

I actually won a signed copy of this book in a competition on the authors Facebook page. This is the fifth book I've read of Thea's and it's very different to the others.

This is a mixture of quite a few genres, romance, erotica, mystery, thriller all rolled into one book.

The storyline itself is very intriguing and makes you want to keep reading to see what mysteries are behind Edward and the manor house. There are a few twists in the story especially towards the end and Mara and Tasha do a great job as amateur sleuths in getting to the bottom of it all.

Overall I did enjoy this book though I don't know if its due to the mix of so many genres it didn't appeal to me as much as Thea's other work.

Badly proof read such a shame!

This is the second book written by this author and it will be the last. Repeating sex scenes. Terrible typos. If your going to put effort into writing a novel, get it proof read. Very disappointed.
