Bex Carter is running for class president. At first she decides to run, simply to challenge her arch enemy Ava Groves, but the more she campaigns, the more she wants to win for the right reasons. Things get a little complicated when a boy is thrown into the presidential race and Bex soon discovers that love and politics just don't mix. Will Bex be triumphant in becoming Lincoln Middle's eighth-grade president, or will mean girl Ava Groves win and make Bex's last year of middle school miserable? Ages 9 and up
Bex has decided she wants to become a photojournalist when she grows up. There's also a possibility that she will get to visit Australia when school is out, but only if she keeps a journal and keeps her grades up.
Ava G. remains the bully and causes problems in class for both of them. She ends up running for president of the student council and things don't go well there, either. There's also a situation where someone she supports ends up dumping her as soon as he gets the council position he was running for.
Nothing horribly serious, no body count, no explosions, just teen-age problems and solutions.
