Betrayal of a Nation

Rate this book
Ever since the tragedy of 9/11, Americans have been assured our borders are safer than ever; the ‘bad guys’ wear turbans and terrorism is an overseas threat—or is it? Several years ago, former Navy Seal Alex Sullivan was dismissed from the NYPD, watching both his career and his marriage crumble. Making ends meet as a small-time private investigator, Alex is hired by the mysterious, rich, and beautiful Rebecca Van De Rayen to keep tabs on her powerful husband…who may not be who she thinks he is. Caught in a whirlwind of wealth, power, politics, and corruption, Alex’s character is tested as he uncovers a master plan that could cause a massive breach in America’s security…and safety. With his team of intelligence specialists and hacking geniuses at his command, Alex sets out on a patriotic mission to deliver justice. But do the pursued know he’s onto them? A close encounter with a band of Chechen terrorists, a kidnapping that leads him all over New York City, and a standoff at a secret compound are just a taste of the trouble Alex finds himself in. In a game where Alex knows he must be one step ahead of his opponents, time is of the essence—but who’s playing who? And is our nation really as safe as we’d like to believe?
