This book tells quite a bit about the eastern front and near the ends mentions America's involvement. For me, I thought it would be a book about how America got involved and what we did, but the first half, excluding the first paragraph, was just how the war started. Yes, it does show what battles were in the war, some weapons that were used, and some vehicles created. America doesn't really come up in the first half, and when it finally does it mentions how we get to Europe. I believe that when a book has "America at war" in all caps it should mostly talk about America's involvement and not much of other countries. I would suggest you get this book only if you want to know about WWI, and if you want to read it for the American spot skip to chapter 7.

This book to me was just "OK". When I first got this book I thought it would supply a story about someone in WWI, when it really just told me about the war. To me reading this book was like reading straight out of a history textbook. Although I found it a little boring I did learn. I learned about certain weapons they used in the war and what they had to do to survive. I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys world history and who likes straight hard facts.
