This book desperately needs an index and I found it's design - the houses are interspersed between Maddison's text on choosing windows, building etc, quite unappealing. I was constantly flicking forward and back to read the text and then find the house he was referring to. An index would have helped me identify the houses faster and I wouldn't have become so frustrated.

Beautiful houses though - and I wished for more photos of these houses - especially when the text refers to their situation on the block and then not show it!!!!

The advice is broad and somewhat superficial. It does profile houses from the first 3 series of the Australian version.
