I surprised myself reading this book and actually liking it for the most part. Bleeker's paragraph definition on Egyptian religion is moving on p. 19. The Thot/Moses debate and the cats/Mut articles were highlights well. The article that dealt with the daily life of a priest, was not well written. Seemed to me that what was mentioned was what they did during purification rituals/ceremonies or what they didn't do.....nothing about on a day by day basis. Scholars writing dedications to a professor in the field, shows how much we need this type of history.
