Ostwald describes his color system in this book. Was hard for me to grasp at first, as my first lessons on color used the RYB Artist's system which included three primary colors. In Ostwald's system, there are four basic colors (red, green, blue and yellow) which the system expands from. I just realized that these are also the four colors of cone opposition processing - which makes more sense.

Very interesting how Ostwald built his 3D color solid, and how his notation system works. As an artist, I'm realizing that all of these systems are valid to use for color inspiration.
