True or After Nat Love became a cowboy, he never gave up riding the trails. False! After many years as a cowboy, Nat saw that railroads were connecting towns across the country. He wanted to keep up with the times. In 1889, Nat quit the cowboy life. He began working on trains instead.

In this History Maker Bios series Nat Love is brought to life. With real timelines and pictures you get a sense of what it was like in the old west. Nat Turner was a cowboy in the 1800's. This 5 chapter book for young readers gives an accurate account from his birth to his death. Nat rounded up cattle, participated in contests and was a Pullman car train porter.

I remember seeing a picture of him in my 5th grade history book in the chapter on the Chisholm Trail and I was fascinated. Super neat person. Much of what we know about him is from his autobiography. Whether it’s factual or full of tall tales is up to the reader. This book makes me want to read his autobiography.
