Lexi Post is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of romance inspired by the classics. She spent years in higher education taking and teaching courses about the classical literature she loved. From Edgar Allan Poe's short story “The Masque of the Red Death” to Tolstoy’s War and Peace, she's read, studied, and taught wonderful classics.
But Lexi's first love is romance novels. In an effort to marry her two first loves, she started writing romance inspired by the classics and found she loved it. From hot paranormals to sizzling cowboys to hunks from out of this world, Lexi provides a sensuous experience with a “whole lotta story.”
Lexi is living her own happily ever after with her husband and her cat in Florida. She makes her own ice cream every weekend, loves bright colors, and you will never see her without a hat.
I loved the story line; it keeps you in your seat waiting to see what happens. Bea and Zach have the chemistry that everyone wants to have but can they be together. Can Zach’s friend Dr Josh find a way to make it happen. I would recommend reading it to find out what happens and if there’s and HEA in there somewhere.

Passion’s Poison by Lexi Post is not part of a series. After reading the summary, I was hooked. I just had to read this book! I had never read a book with this kind of premise and I could not wait to see how it would turn out.
Beatrice Rappaccini has an illness that most would not understand and if doctors or scientists found out, she could be turned in to a human guinea pig. She needs sex to survive and she makes her partner sick once she has sex with them. It makes for having a normal life extremely hard. Beatrice seems to have a hard time with her conscience and just wants a normal life. Beatrice’s motives were not just realistic but one I could sympathize with.
Zach Woodman is an artist who uses a chainsaw to create his art. He is a hot and sexy man who is fascinated by Beatrice. She is not what he expects and the more he finds out about her life the more he is hooked.
The chemistry between Zach and Beatrice is blistering hot. I could appreciate the fact that Beatrice was willing to die than have sex with another random stranger. I loved that Zach was willing to save her at the risk of his safety. The sex scenes were hot and spicy.
This book was fabulous. Overall, it was an interesting tale, one that sticks with you well after you finish the book. What this book does very well is make you think about the future and what scientists are doing when they play with our DNA. I will be looking for more books by Ms. Post in the future.
Lexi Post has done it again. After the success of Masque, Post has released Passion’s Poison and found the perfect recipe for creating hot exciting stories. Did I say hot? I meant scorching. Lexi Post takes a story from classic literature—in this case, Hawthorne’s Rappaccini’s Daughter, a tale about a mad scientist who actually makes his daughter poisonous--adds a 20th century descendent of the original Beatrice Rappaccini, who’s name just happens to be Bea as well then adds one incredibly hot logger turned chainsaw artist. She adds heaping dollops of some incredible sex (and I do mean incredible!) and the following ingredients: a former boyfriend who’s still in love with Bea, six fathers who want to protect her, a mother who is still living the hippie lifestyle, a cop who wants her for his own and a series of threatening letters. Now, blend in the part that gives Passion’s Poison its unique flavor - Bea must have sex in a series of one night stands to release her poison so she doesn’t die, making her partners ill in the process. Stir until messy. Very messy and voila! Passion’s Poison is the perfect soufflé of mystery, angst, and great sex, all wrapped up in a deeply satisfying Happily Ever After ribbon. Well done, Ms. Post!
Poison’s Passion is Lexi Post’s blistering second novel. This book, as well as her first (Masque), is inspired by a classical short story that she turns into stimulating “what ifs.” Basing erotic novels on classical literature is unique and Ms. Post makes these stories entertaining and engaging. Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Rappaccini’s Daughter, Poison’s Passion follows Bea, the direct descendant of the original poisonous Beatrice. Bea inherits the deadly toxin that makes her lovers ill. Longing for love and a lasting relationship, she falls hard for sexy woodcarver Zach who has relationship issues of his own. Determined not to hurt the man she loves, she struggles with her poisonous curse, obsessed ex, multiple possible fathers, marriage-minded hippie mom, and sordid past. This titillating book is full of sizzling steamy sex, intrigue and mystery, which will make you demand a happy ending for all the characters. Thankfully, Ms. Post does not disappoint! She really has created another sensual masterpiece and I look forward to reading her next offering in this new stimulating sub-genre.
I could not put this book down. I loved the way Lexi tied in the original Rappaccini story with the present; it truly gave a new experience to this sexy story. The steamy and erotic scenes were perfectly done and left steam coming up from my kindle. Defiantly a book I will go back and reread again and again.
So I expected a little eroticism but... 70% of the book was descriptive scenes with just a little story thrown in. Very little. I started skipping scenes meant I paged through a lot. Oh well. For a quick thrill..this book will be perfect.
