The Ogham Grove: The Year Wheel of the Celtic/Druidic god Ogma the Sun-Faced

Rate this book
Please This is the new, expanded edition (as of 1st Dec 2017). Over 120 pages have been added; and this book now contains over 100 full-colour images. 'The Ogham Grove' is full of charts, diagrams, beautiful artwork, and photographs of whittled wooden magical tools, that show the beauty of each tree. 'The Ogham Grove' is a Year Wheel and a sacred circle. The sun visits all twenty trees during each year cycle; and the moon visits all twenty trees every month. This book is full of Celtic mythology and historical research. The main focus of this book is to help people connect with the spirits of the trees by gathering wood from each of the twenty trees, to then use to create their own Ogham Groves (for magical, spiritual, and shamanic purposes). The act of creating your own Ogham Grove also creates an inner-realm grove that you can work with within yourself. 'The Ogham Grove' is full of tree-lore and ideas that people can work with whether they are Druids, Witches, Wiccans, Celtic Shaman or Reconstructionists, Buddhists, Hindus, or whatever... we all belong to the garden. Throughout it all there is the definite presence of the Rose Queen, Lady Venus, of Witchcraft and Faerie traditions, and the perpetual pentagram that the planet Venus creates every eight years as she dances between the Earth and the Sun. This book will enhance the works of all nature-based magical spiritual systems.

The Ogham Grove

Some really interesting and new ways of working with the Ogham trees. I was particularly fascinated by the patterns of 5.

I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the Ogham traditions, tree energy, meditations, and beautiful illustrations. In this book, I learned that most of the Celtic Ogham calendars - those with thirteen tree delineations- are incorrect. A fuller view is presented along with a wide historical context, mythological references, and druidic traditions. Yuri is a fantastic illustrator. So many of these illustrations are frameworthy.

I truly enjoyed reading Leitch's account of the ogham and ogham patterns, the 20-segment solar calendar, and his own experiences of working with the corresponding wood types and branches. Something to often return to this year.

Inspiring

This inspired me to learn about the native trees here in Arizona. It's a very special book that gives off good vibes. I'm looking forward to reading more by the author.

Beautifully written and illustrated. Yuri Leitch sets out clearly his research and conclusions about the Ogham Grove. One of my favourite reference books!
