The act of creating your own Ogham Grove also creates an inner-realm grove that you can work with within yourself. 'The Ogham Grove' is full of tree-lore and ideas that people can work with whether they are Druids, Witches, Wiccans, Celtic Shaman or Reconstructionists, Buddhists, Hindus, or whatever... we all belong to the garden. Throughout it all there is the definite presence of the Rose Queen, Lady Venus, of Witchcraft and Faerie traditions, and the perpetual pentagram that the planet Venus creates every eight years as she dances between the Earth and the Sun. I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the Ogham traditions, tree energy, meditations, and beautiful illustrations. In this book, I learned that most of the Celtic Ogham calendars - those with thirteen tree delineations- are incorrect. A fuller view is presented along with a wide historical context, mythological references, and druidic traditions. Yuri is a fantastic illustrator. So many of these illustrations are frameworthy.

I truly enjoyed reading Leitch's account of the ogham and ogham patterns, the 20-segment solar calendar, and his own experiences of working with the corresponding wood types and branches. Something to often return to this year.
