After getting revenge on the gang that brutally beat her mother, all Mya Bedford’s known enemies are dead. But just as she gets back to work at her Detroit hair salon, she’s got a new battle on her hands, convincing her husband, Hood, to walk away from the hustle. Dealing drugs has always been his bread and butter—and he’s just teamed up with a new crew on a deal that will set them up for life…
Mya can’t ignore the dread she feels. And when her fears come true, Hood will have to choose between their marriage and the game—if he can survive long enough. Mya’s family is at stake once more, because the street never tires of bloodshed, and the fight to survive never ends…
Saundra grew up in Cleveland, Mississippi, and now resides in Indiana with her husband and children. She started writing screenplays at the age of twelve and as an adult her need to create intensified. Saundra’s stories highlight fearless females who hustle to get what they deserve. Her debut novel, Her Sweetest Revenge, began the series that won praise for being a “roller-coaster ride” and “drama at its best.” Saundra is currently at writer at Kensington Publishing and loves to hear from readers.
Saundra delivers a juicy addictive tale as Mya Bedford is met with challenges that threaten all that she loves and holds dear. All is well in Mya’s life except for one thing. She wants her husband Hood to “walk away” from his drug dealing business. Hood, a fierce and domineering dealer, promises he will once he completes this last very lucrative deal, an opportunity too good to pass up. Mya’s inner instincts kick into high alert upon meeting Hood’s new partners and he starts breaking his own rules bringing chaos into their personal lives. As Mya’s world begins to crumble out of control, Mya once again acts like mama bear protecting her clan. With deadly stakes, will Mya and those she loves survive to live another day?
With pulse-pounding thrills and sharp twists, Her Sweetest Revenge 2, is an entertaining easy-to-read book filled with characters who risk everything for money, love, revenge and survival. There is no doubt the Mya is a good standing member of the “ride-or-die chick” club as she is fiercely protective of her family and friends, even to the point of being overly intrusive in all aspects of their lives. Readers will certainly enjoy the trust, love, respect, and passion that Mya and Hood have for each other and will be on the edge of their seats as the couple reaches a turning point in their relationship. Mya wants very much to put the past behind her and focus on the present and future but ancient history rears its ugly head adding page-turning drama and allows for Mya’s blazingly daring actions to jump off the page. My nitpick is there was a little too much dropping of designer names in the storyline. The shiveringly heart-pounding ending will have readers and the edge of their seats and anxious for the next book in the series. I recommend HER SWEETEST REVENGE 2 for readers who enjoy Cookie Lyon-like characters.

Mya Bedford is ready to start living again. She’s back in her shop with her friends making that money. Her husband is giving her all of his loving. Life is good yet there is a cloud hanging over their heads.
Hood is about that life. He has a thirst for the streets and the hood fame that comes along with it. The love between the couple is vibrant, their allegiance toward one another is genuine, but Mya is ready for peace and happiness.
When ultimatums are issued, choices have to be made. Will their family be able to stand or will they fall another victim to the streets? Life has many lessons; will fear or death always be a factor in their lives? Or will they lay their cards down and bask in adoration of each other and their ill-gotten fortune together?
“Her Sweetest Revenge 2” is your basic urban read: a d-boy, a beautiful woman, money, drugs, and danger. There are no explosive scenes, intriguing characters and the plot is lackluster at best. It fits into the same ole hood story with murder, sex and betrayals. The cliffhanger at the end is a last ditch effort to string the readers along for another ride.
I laughed a lot in this second installment of the series. Saundra definitely has a way with words, and keeps it real. The violence was realistic and did not disappoint. From love scenes to shootouts, to beat-downs, this book emphasized that, sometimes, revenge is the only way...
It took me too long to get into this book. Part 1 was really good. This one was ok. It just seemed like Mya couid do everything with little to no effort. She won at everything-that's not realistic. I'm all for happy endings but let's keep it real!
Once again the love story part of this book is great! Without giving away the story they have a strong connection. I like the closeness and loyalty of Mya's family and friends. Starting part 3 now!
Dang, I actually thought Hood was dead. I like this book just as much as the first one. Mya seemed to always be right about someone's character. From Anthony all the way down to Felicia. Currently looking for the third part.
