As the title implies - original documents transcribed by the Navy Historical Center (now known as Navy History and Heritage Command). Along w/ vols 2 and 3, the definitive source for history of the US Navy during the War of 1812. I dig through all three volumes fairly often, and they will probably be on my "currently reading' list for a while.

An excellent in depth account of naval activities during the War of 1812 between Britain and the fledgling United States. This work is basically a collection of documents.
