Something of an Insurance for Dummies, very basic, fit for adjusters-in-training at university.
Very much pro-insurance, anti-litigation--not surprising, as it's written by the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, Insurance Institute of America.
Not obviously written by an attorney or even someone who consulted with an attorney, as legal matters are undeveloped, misleadingly presented, or manifestly erroneous.
Opens with a comical introduction, including a discussion of "How does insurance help society?"--listing out dubious items in support of the industry.
Neglects to mention the general nastiness of adjusters, the obstinacy of subrogation departments, the vigor with which exclusions are asserted, the formula denials, the trite reliance on fraud defenses in virtually all claims, the inconsistency of policy summaries with policy terms, and the universal redundancy of the industry as a whole.
