Temptation, Part Two

Rate this book
My name is Brooklyn Harris. In my life, I’ve done a lot of things I’m not proud of, but I am proud of my life. I just need to figure out what to do with the rest of it. I’m a burlesque dancer at an exclusive Vegas club. That fact, along with the teensy weensy misdemeanor on my record, means the cops don’t exactly trust me when I say someone is stalking me.

But he is. He leaves things everywhere, has invaded my home and my life. Things are starting to escalate and I’m not even going to lie. I’m scared. So my best friend, Sin, has this plan: skip town and let the police work and her dad call in a few favors. Let someone try to find this guy before he finds me. I’m going along with it. But, only until I can figure out how to fight back.

Landing in the tiny town of Swift Rapids, Virginia wasn’t really part of the plan. My admirer found me in New York City, so Sin and I had to make tracks. The sexy cop in town? He’s everywhere. I can’t stop bumping into him and I can’t get him out of my head. Colt Stone is hard as a rock and just as stubborn. I need to get laid, learn to shoot a gun and take my life back—in that order.

I need to start out my review by letting you know that the first few chapters and a bit later in the book I got the heebie jeebies, with a creepy factor of 100! The whole stalker situation felt so real and made my skin crawl at the audacity he had invading her life. Casey Bond really knows how to draw you into her world from the very beginning with characters that feel as if they could exist in your own inner circles. Let's hope I never have to experience the frightening event of having a stalker, but if I do, I want an officer Colt Stone in my corner. Not only is he an officer of the law, but he's a sexy, yummy, delicious hunk of a man.

Brooklyn Harris was my favorite character (Colt was a super close second) because of her strength and kick ass attitude. I love it when the female character, afraid or not, isn't a weak and whiny woman waiting for a man to save her. Brooklyn works hard and lives life to the fullest, even when others try to judge her. Her sarcastic humor and self confidence rocks this story.

In conclusion I just have five words for you, I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK!

Grab your copy now and get ready for laughs, chills and a few hot flashes.

Devoured this book! Awesome writing! I so loved officer Stone! Yum! Thanks again to my friend Charles for the recommendation. I need to hear Reilys story though! Morgan and Shane were awesome and Brook and Stone was sweet and hot all in the same space! Love the character chemistry.

Temptation again follows Sin, but could be read as a stand alone in my opinion, but why would you when they're both awesome and super fast fun reads. Anywho focusing on Brooklyn or favorite burlesque dancer. She's a good person, even if that one tiny misdemeanor on her record says otherwise. Still it sucks if all the cops see is that incident and not the whole currently being stalked aspect. Creepy stalker has been leaving presents at work and even in her home, escalating for sure. Never a good sign as anyone who has watched a single episode of any crime show can tell you. So with her best friend Sin they skip town to try and shake the stalker. This leads Brooklyn into the small town of Swift Rapids, VA. In town Brooklyn finds sexy small town cop Colt Stone is everywhere and constantly bumping into her. Stalker on her tail or no, it has been a while and Colt is meant to serve and protect. Laying low and staying out of sight might not be so bad in this small town.

Just like Sin this Temptation is a super-fast fun read. I finished it in one sitting and only a few hours. It starts off with a bang. Right in there with this stalker being all creeptastic and making your skin crawl. I already loved Brook from Sin but in this we get to know even more about her and what it is that makes her tick. It made me love her all the more. I also liked that we got more of her and Sin’s friendship and back and forth. It feels so natural and reminds me of conversations I’d have with my own friends. They are there for each other no matter what and I like that loyalty shining through.

Still as Sin went to a big city to escape into the sea of people, Brook is going the opposite route, small town hiding. Swift Rapids, VA is a huge change for her but pleasant. A deep rest from a normally chaotic life and just in time for her to contemplate her future. Oh and the handsome cop who keeps showing up around her doesn’t hurt either. He may uphold the law but he makes a girl want to break it just to get arrested by him. Just saying, Colt is totally book boyfriend material. And getting to see some chapters from his perspective just made him all the more enjoyable. I really liked his conversations with Willy, okay I liked Willy in all his parts but his banter with Colt….the manther part just about had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

I can’t really say much more because again this is a fast read and part of the fun is experiencing it. I really enjoyed the story and the tension playing throughout the book. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I can honestly say that I did not know what to expect of this story from the cover. I wasn't sure which way Casey was going to go with it. I was pleasantly surprised!!! I could not put this one down when I started it!! Such a great read and I love how Casey made the main character to where she was able to take care of herself with self defense. (A gun!!) This is a touchy topic with all the stuff going on in the world with gun control, but I totally agree with being able to defend yourself!! Thanks Casey for writing a story that can maybe help others see that sometimes this is necessary!!

Brooklyn is a young lady that has made some poor choices in her past that she has had to pay for. Now that she is ready to move on, she has a scary stalker that will not leave her alone, but with her past, the police have a hard time taking her seriously. So, Brooklyn and her best friend Sin decide that they best thing to do is to get out of town and away from the stalker. When the girls end up in a small town, they never imagined that Brooklyn would fall in love.

Colt is one of the local policemen and he meets Brooklyn one night when she has had a little too much to drink. When Sin begs him not to take Brooklyn to jail, he decides to let her go home with Sin as long as she promises to get her home or where ever they are staying and let her sober up. When Brooklyn realizes the next day that she had a run in with the hot policeman, she is so embarrassed. There is lots of humor in this story that will have you laughing out lout in parts of it.

So, what will end up happening with Brooklyn and Colt?? You have to read this story to see how things end up with them. I read it in one sitting and loved every second of it!! Casey Bond did an awesome job of combining romance, humor and everyday life situations that we have to deal with. Thanks for such a great read!! I look forward to what Casey has in store for us in the future!!

***I received this ARC for an honest review.***

This is the first book that I have read by Casey L. Bond and there were times that even I felt creeped out like someone was after me.

Brooklyn Harris is a kick ass burlesque dancer that has some creepy guy stalking her. Does that stop her? No! Yes she moves away from Vegas to the small town of Swift Rapids to get away from her stalker, but she is going to do everything she can to learn how to defend herself. The one thing she is going to do is learn how to shoot a gun and why not ask the sexy cop from Swift Rapids for his help.

Colt Stone is a sexy cop in this small town in Swift Rapids and his first encounter with Brooklyn is of her being extremely drunk and puking on him. After that first encounter he can't stop bumping into her. Even when she rents a condo in the small town it is one in a building that he owns. The one thing he can't figure out is why she moved to his town.

When Brooklyn ask Colt to teach her to shoot a gun things start to get heated between them. The only thing is, is that the stalker is still out there and he will stop at nothing to get to her.

What will happen between Colt and Brooklyn? Will the stalker find her in the little town of Swift Rapids?

This book will not only make you feel the creepiness of the stalker but you will also feel the chemistry and sexual energy that is between Colt and Brooklyn.

I was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS

Now we know a little about Brooklyn Harris from Sin, however this is her story. Brooklyn is not like your average show girl. She tries to be prim and proper and she does try, however turning 30 does not bode well for her. It also seem's that she has a case of someone stalking her. She tries to leave town and go anywhere but the stalker seems to find her no matter what. How is he doing this? Brooklyn then finds her place at home in this quaint little town in Virginia. She also finds a certain cop who has had his heart broken very attractive.

Colt Stone had no intentions of ever seeing anyone serious again. All he wanted to do was protect his little town and the people within it from any evil from the outside world. What he did not expect was Brooke Harris taking his heart hostage for life.

I loved this book simply because I got to see more of Sin and Shustice. I also loved seeing Brooklyn's story and her landing a hottie cop in a small town America. This was the perfect blend of Temptation with all the extra's you could want-- from snide old man remark's to almost half naked pictures being taken in a police car and even catching your landlord shirtless.

Wait did that become a reality? Why, yes it all did in this book! This is not even the last of Casey L. Bond's Sin Serial set. There is one more book left! I can't wait!

Casey L Bond does it again with this book serial. I can't stress enough how much I loved this book. Better yet, I love how she uses the characters from her Sin series and builds upon the world I've fallen in love with. Brooklyn is the main focus for this set of stories; she met Morgan in the Sin series and they became best friends.

Brooklyn finds herself being stalked and with no clues as to who is behind her mystery gifts and break-ins, Morgan (Sin) and Shane do everything they can to help her. Morgan takes Brooklyn on a trip to New York and they soon find themselves running again, to the small town of Swift Rapids. To add to her complications . . . into her life walks Stone, the local cop who is hot as hell and infuriates Brooklyn to no end. Will Brooklyn survive her stalker and find a new reason to run away from Vegas? You'll have to read to find out!!

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! And for anyone like me who stays fairly busy, you know a book is excellent when you are staying up WAY later than you should to finish it. These stories are full of adventure, laughs, and hot tension. Definitely a winner in my book!

"I'm not gonna make it easy for you to leave me."

Brooklyn Harris is a burlesque dancer with a very secret admirer. The problem is that he crossed the line from admirer to stalker, which has Brooklyn running to escape. She soon finds out that disappearing is much harder than it seems, so she lands in a small town in hopes of not being found. Can this Vegas girl handle the small town life of Swift Rapids, Virginia? With one of the town's cops, Colt Stone, by her side, he helps her in more ways than one.

I will say that once I started reading this, I couldn't put it down. It help my attention right up until the end. The chemistry with Brooklyn and Colt is super hot, right from the start. I also loved that Brooklyn was a strong female lead. Even when there is a 'mishap' with the local hair dresser, she takes it like a champ and goes with it. And the stalker? The entire situation was totally creepy because this is something that can actually happen.

The ending gave you some closure, but does leave you wanting more. I cannot wait for the next collection of serials with these characters!

After reading Sin I knew I needed more about Brooklyn. She's spunky, outgoing and I love that she can take care of herself. We get just enough information to keep us satisfied about each character. I would have loved to know more about Colt but really the stuff we do get is enough. Seriously how would want a hit police office in their life? The storyline is a little creepy with how HE can go unnoticed for so long, even try to put himself in Brooklyn's life and be able to follow her across country, it's crazy to think of but it happens! I love Casey L. bond's writing style it flows nicely and leaves us wanting more! This was a fast paced, intense read that had me hooked from the first chapter. I really hope we get Riley's story!

First I want to say Thank you to Casey for giving me the opportunity of reading this series

This book series was amazing. It kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the stalker was. No I'm not going to leave any spoilers cause I don't like it when other people leave spoilers. Colt and Brooklyn I love them. I love how they kept waiting for the next person to make the move and I love the chemistry between them. I can't get enought of Casey Bonds books. If you haven't read them then you need to.

I freaking <3 Casey!! Ok so if you have read Sin you will love this as well. I just have to say Casey has quite a way with words :) "that someone was a sandwich or two short of a picnic" & "Those eyeballs were like heat-seeking boobie missiles." Definitely has some laugh out loud moments with this one. Brooklyn is a fun character to read about, she is a burlesque dancer from Vegas. People love her, this creates a problem when she gets herself a creepy stalker person. What else do you do when that person invades your space, run! Nothing like a small town to slow things down a bit. She meets herself a sexy cop to boot, the yummy Colt. It is not a dull moment reading this one. I really love you get to see Morgan and Shustice!! I love them two. You won't be disappointed reading Temptation. It is worth it.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't help but think this actually happens to people in real life. Amazing writing and great story building. Not for those easily creeped out by stalkers! It's actually kind of a dark read, it's a nice change of pace from this author and she delivered.

Title: The Temptation Serial Series
Author: Casey L Bond
Reviewer: Rea Loftis

4.5 Stars

First of all, let's talk about that cover?! Love the red lipstick!!! ❤️

Next, I'm kind of obsessed with this story!! You get three points of view, a kickass bff with a hot MMA fighter hubby, a murder mystery "whodunnit" type of feel, a hot cop, a burlesque performer; I mean I could go on!! But then I'd give away the whole book!!

Needless to say, I'm a fan of The Temptation by Casey L. Bond! From the first page, Casey had me intrigued by the mystery persona of "Him". As the story continues, you meet Brooklyn, aforementioned burlesque performer! And Colt Storm, holy name-gasm ladies!! He's the hot cop, in case you hadn't figured that out?!

Brooklyn has a "stalker" and we get taken on a cross country road trip with bff Morgan; to try and evade this maniac! The girls meet Colt *swoon* in a nowhere town. But soon he's just what the psycho...uh I mean Doctor ordered!!

It's a ride of laughs, steamy exchanges and creepy mccreeperson moments! I give it 4.5 Popcorn flavored cupcakes (that's definitely a thing!) because it's like a movie you'll want a snack for; and hope it doesn't end!

Oh man. Is it hot in here? No? Well, maybe you should read this book, internet. Brooklyn is a sassy, sexy, burlesque dancer from Las Vegas. If you’ve read the Sin serial series (also by Casey L Bond), then you’ll recognize both Brooklyn and her best friend, Morgan. I love how Brooklyn is hilarious, strong, yet real. I really connected to her and worried for her safety (especially when she drives…)!

I loved getting to know Brooklyn a little better. She puts on a strong face, but when she starts being stalked by someone unknown to her. Her brave face wavers just a little. And she finds herself running away from Law Vegas for her safety to a small no-name town.

But hey, it’s not all bad. She meets Colt Stone and finds out that small town living may not be SO bad after all.

Check it out! It’s a great, sexy, and fast read.
