More successsful than the Fodor's guide to Portland that I also used on this trip. This book does a reasonable job of outlining what to do and where to go, though it's rather short on inspiration -- no photos and few maps. Good coverage of areas of outstanding natural beauty, though, and plenty of references to websites to follow up with.
