Friedrich Kittler was one of the world’s most influential, provocative and misunderstood media theorists. A brilliant set of articles assessing Kittler's work in light of recent developments in media studies and the digital humanities. Of particular note is Mark B.N. Hansen's skillful articulation of a latent humanism in Kittler's work, and brilliant analyses of recursive history in the late MUSIC AND MATHEMATICS work by John Durham Peters and Geoffrey Winthrop-Young.
