Hearing that his ex-best friend is getting married might be the only thing that can lead Andy back to his wolf pack deep in the Colorado mountains. He's a city wolf now, leaving behind the awkward, skinny teenage geek he was once upon a time. All he wants to do is see Levi one last time, and maybe lament what might have been between them if Levi had been brave enough to leave the pack with Andy all those years ago.

Levi has been a good soldier in his Alpha's army, the second-in-command for several years. Seeing Andy again reminds Levi how he's toed the line, and how all he's gotten for it is a lonely life. He's not sure why Andy came back, and at first he's not even happy about it. Their need for each other runs deep and strong, though, and Levi has to wonder what he would do for Andy if the man would just ask him one more time.

This was just ok, but it had potential. It read more like a fanfic, where the author just expects you to know the rules of this particular world, how this shifter society works, etc. I didn't feel that it really explained WHY the triplets, Andy, Ashton, and Adam left town, and I REALLY didn't get why, if they left the pack together, they ended up spread across the country, instead of staying together. I also didn't get why that one pack member became totally unhinged when Andy came home for a visit. He ruined everything! What? What did he ruin? Someone said they thought he was in love with Andy's brother Adam, but it felt more like he was in love with Levi to me.

Ask again is a very sweet romance. I enjoyed the story a lot. It’s a very quick, fun, romantic read.
The stars of the show--oops-- Randy a wolf that was deemed omega when he was young. Instead of being the whipping boy he stood his ground and left the pack. His other two brothers (they are triplets) left as well.
Levi is the pack enforcer and chose to stay with the pack all those years ago instead of going with his mate Randy. Randy swore he would never ask again, but here he was back looking better than ever and stronger.
There are so many wonderful characters in this book. Randy’s mom and dad are amazing! Even the alpha was likeable. But you just had to love the meddling grannies!
I will say I wish the book was longer, and it went into more of why Randy and his brothers left. It alluded to he had his reasons, but that was never addressed. Though there wasn’t a lot of plot, there was some conflict and drama. I really can’t wait to see if the bad guy Canaan and one of Andy’s brothers hook up.
I loved the sweet moment that Levi realized his bond to Andy, it brought joy to my heart and put a smile on my face. I also liked the explosive moment when Levi and Andy first met back up that was HOT!
If you like short and sweet shifter stories, hierarchy, werewolves, mate-bonds and a good romance, this is for you!

In this world of the ‘Odd Wolf Out’, werewolf pack rules are more cruel toward those perceived as weaker than in many other books of the genre. Omegas exist to be pack whipping boys, and if they don’t accept their fate (which seems rare enough) they have no other choice but to leave. This is the situation Andy finds himself in, and at age seventeen he makes a stand. Never mind he is leaving Levi, his mate, behind - he and his two triplet brothers will not stick around to be beaten up. But when he hears that Levi is getting married, over a decade later, he can’t resist and returns. What follows is a story filled with anger, desperate hope for things to be different, and an ultimate solution neither Andy nor Levi dared believe in.

I really did not care for how this book was actually written. The plot was interesting. . mates separated for a long time. ..*we were first told 10 years then later it was 15* then reunited but not without some problems. The thing was they didn't really act like mates. Ur was weird. What kind of mates you know of that can be separated for 10 years with no consequences?
But I think the most disappointing aspect of this book was the reunion and how it progressed. It was odd... just not filled with love or longing or angst or lust. Just nothing. Then they would romp a little but not really DO anything and then all of a sudden the scene would end randomly and the story would be in another place. Like wtf?
Not enjoyable.

Hearing that his best friend is getting married has Andy returning to his old pack deep in the mountain of Colorado. Andy wants to see Levi one last time but Levi is not at all happy that Andy is back. The two are at odds in the beginning but Levi knows that Andy means more to him than he lets on. He stayed when Andy left and now he is second in command. But his life is empty without Andy. Maybe he will ask him again to go with him.

Ask Again highlines the fact that bullying is hard to escape. Most outgrow it but still some never do as Andy finds out. He had a hard time returning as he knew memories would follow his return. Levi was sorry Andy left but he felt he had a duty. Now he felt as if he could move on if only Andy would ask

There is some hate in this book, but it's minimal.
I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads

Andy and Levi began life very similar. They learned that they both liked boys together and began their relationship at an early age. However, because Andy was the "runt" of the pack, people liked to pick on him. He wished that he had been able to stay with his pack, however, because he was always seen as the weak one, he decided to leave - to strike out on his own and do for himself, what the pack wouldn't do. His only issue: Levi.

Then you have Levi. He was bound to his pack - duty bound. He wanted to be enough for Andy to stay. However, in the end, he was not enough and had to learn to live without his best friend and lover.

This was a sweet, short story. I was listening in my car and laughed out loud at Andy's mom. She is a spitfire and one that I would have loved to see more of.

While this story did have some angst, the real story is between Levi and Andy. Their connection was never lost and despite not having seen or heard from each other in so long, they were able to kind of start where they left off - that's how you know the friendship was strong - can you be apart, not speak for years and still feel like you just saw them yesterday.

I really enjoyed this story - it had a feel good sense and was very well laid out. I do wish that it had been a little longer and that I would have known more about Andy's brothers. I feel like they were mentioned a lot, but we didn't really get to see them.

This was a first for me from B.A. Tortuga, I liked it better than I thought I would. Short books have a hard time in getting to the story quickly, at the same time keeping it interesting. Ms Tortuga did a great job at finding what worked.

Two males destined to be mates they were close when they were younger, then feeling like an outsider with no hope of fitting in. One mate packed up and left and stayed gone, up until a little birdie told him his mate was getting married.

Mates he knew it when they were younger, but his mate had a hard time finding his place and when asked to go with him, all he could think about was pack and he let his mate walk away from him. Now he's back but for how long, more important why. Is there a spark?

Leaving barely a man, coming home more than a man and the years was nice to him. All hard bodied and an attitude to match. No longer is he ok with just any old thing. Seeing his mate, stirring up old feeling and not just from his mate but from some in town, who would much rather he leave and go back where he came from.

Quick hot read, just enough detail to make it a great read as well as look for the next in the series. I enjoyed it and liked B.A. Tortuga style of writing. Enjoy

Ask Again is an interesting take on wolf shifter culture. Triplet brothers Andy, Adam, and Ashton left their pack because of mistreatment. Andy is the smallest of the three and even though he had met his mate, Levi, he still felt he had no future in the pack. He headed first to Boston for college and later back to Denver to work as a computer programmer.
Levi stayed with the pack but never settled down with anyone and served his alpha Ray as an enforcer. When Andy's grandmother decides to play matchmaker and tells Andy he needs to come home to see Levi get married, Andy shows up to find it's all a ruse. He and Levi begin again where they left off.
This is a very short story, which isn't the issue here. The problem with it is the lack of world building. The reader is left to fill in the blanks to figure out some things that are not explained. However, that really doesn't interfere with enjoyment of the short story since it's really a character-driven story. In the end Andy and Levi have their HEA and we're set up for further stories of the other two triplets.
Enjoyable and worth reading, especially if you are a fan of shifters and want to read the rest of this series as it becomes available.

Three and a half stars!
This was a short shifter story with an intriguing premise. There were parts that were light on the details so it was kind of confusing. Some of the big ones were why Andy and his brothers left in the first place and why he stayed away so long if Levi was his mate. There were a few others but they were more minor. I really liked the scene where Levi and Andy play fought in the river in their shifted form. You could tell they were just being kids again and things were simple in that moment. That was also when you could tell they were going to make it together. Levi took such good care of Andy when he got hurt. There were some things left open at the end of the story, most likely since it’s the start of a series. You can tell Levi and Andy are going to make it together. I’m interested to read the next book in the series to see more of this pack and the brothers, and maybe have some of those things answered.

Great story of a second chance at love. The way Andy and Levi approached each other when reunited was interesting--not just the mushy lovefest that I was expecting. Andy left because he was an omega wolf, destined to be dumped on or ignored. So many books about shifters and pack don't address the ones who don't fit in or prejudice/violence against a pack member like that. That made this a unique story in exploring a little of that dynamic. Secondary characters are great. I love the conspiring grannies and Andy's quirky family! I really enjoyed the dialogue in the story, there was a lot of banter, sarcasm, wisecracking, and love. There were some issues with formatting and times that I wished mental communications were italicized or something, but those issues were minimal. For those who are familiar with Tortuga's writing style, this is a classic example. I'm a big fan and wasn't disappointed.

So I know this is a novella so it is going to be short but for me I did not see the characters together enough to actually believe they are mates. Let me tell you why..
So Andy leaves town and the pack for ten years but come backs to visit when his grandma tells him Levi is getting married..
Well when they see each other face to face it was on and cracking right away no real build up or enough of one for me. Their conversations were so for a lack of better words weird just stilled and no real deep talks just right to the wham bam then were mates or at least that is what I felt like.
So for me I need that build up and for the two MC's to interact more together to feel their connection. So although I liked were the author was going with this story and the shifter aspect of it too, I am sad to say this novella was just not for me....

First off I want to say that I did enjoy this story and I will be reading the next installment but I rated it low because of how the story was presented.

When I first started reading it I wasn't exactly clear about what was happening. It felt like I was reading from the middle of the story and even as I kept reading and tidbit of information was being fed to me I still wasn't getting a complete story. What I did get was a vague sense of what happened. It was like talking to a very private person and trying to find out what makes them tick.

There was just a bunch holes in the story that weren't addressed (a bit like swiss cheese). There was a lot of room to speculate on the cause of the triplets (Adam, Andy and Ashton) leaving the pack (why they were being abuse, who picked on them, the pack structure, etc.
I know it was mentioned that Andy was an omega and low on the totem pole and that was a reason but it didn't feel like a complete one.

I liked this story. This series has so much potential, though I would like it if the author gets in deeper on the background of the werewolf community. The story was so quick that there wasn’t really any time to watch the characters interact and determine if they where good together.

Everything happened so fast! I just wanted more of the story! I did like the end. It gave meaning to the title and left my with a happy feeling. There is some editing to do to the story but nothing major that could retract from the story.

I will be looking forward to the next story and hoping that the author lengthens the stories and give us more to read.

Andy and Levi were mated(?) as teen-agers but something happened and Andy and his triplet brothers had to leave the pack. Levi was expected to remain behind to support the pack, and though it pained them, the mates parted ways.

When Andy’s meddling grandmother draws the two back into the same town again, the chemistry is right where they left it: smoldering hot!

Andy is a city wolf, and Levi a country one. Will they be able to find a way to be together or are they destined to be apart?

**

This was a fun little shifter story about second chance love. I didn’t always understand the motivations of Andy and Eli and I definitely didn’t understand how they could be mates and be separated for 10 years!

But… it was pretty fun and I appreciated the fairly low-angst, sexiness the two shared.

I recommend this to die-hard shifter fans and give it 3.5 of 5 stars

Ask Again started out quite sad, with two lovers choosing different paths. The middle was all about a conniving yet sweet grandmother, hard-headed, manly men who both refused to be the first one to bend. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for more substance. It was all very I love, I hate you, I love you but don’t want to, wham, bam, I love you, the end. It's a testosterone treat, if that's what you're looking for. ;)

After a few pages, I came to Goodreads to find out if this was the second in a series or something because it felt like I was already supposed to know this universe and the characters. It is the first of the series, though, so I was a bit lost right away and the rest of the story didn't impress either.

I enjoyed this but I did feel like I was missing something, like why everyone was so freaked the three left, or why. Obviously lots of info left to be doled out in future editions.

Very standard but nicely written shifter fare, I'll be looking forward to next books, especially if they develop the world.
