I read all three parts of this book as the book originally came in Swedish and only recently has its first part been translated into English.

The book brought a light and balance into opinions about magic mushrooms which I heard before.

Some told me magic mushroom is a drug and it causes one to leave reality, enter a big dream
and fly around without purpose - like going for a holiday to chill out.
Some believe that shrooms can damage your brain. Some believe it can heal your body and mind.
Personally, I have not found any more controversial topic than magic mushrooms and their use so far.

Staying away from the mainstream and at the same time being used for thousands of years and being labeled as shamanic tool,
made me wonder what was it for real? Why anyone can not stay on the top of the topic and give unbiased review?

I found out the answer in the book. Mushrooms gets you into a reality where the boundaries of time and space doesn´t exist and to stay still
and focused is the hardest thing you can do there. Mr. Norman trained his focus, succeeded at staying still and wrote about how he did it and what he found.

This books is the closest to the unbiased review on shrooms I have found so far. It explains the basics and it does not scare nor does it promise the roses.
It provides us with tips on how to treat ones body before use of mushrooms so one feels good physically.
It gives overview of tendencies in our thoughts that make the trip positive (healing) or negative (frustration, fear, depression)
so one see for her/himself what s/he inclines to in her/his thought-pattern in daily life and then also
what results it brings under the use of the magic mushrooms. It shows how our daily life is built of miniature parts and how it is, at the same time, a miniature part of some more complex structures.

The use of the mushrooms in this book is described as a ritual.
And for me, who did not try any drugs whatsoever before, was this very effective way to look at the use of mushrooms as a concept
that has its rules, its beginning, its duration and its end. And as a concept it requires certain amount of respect.

Mr. Norman writes about his own experiences and does not spare us details. Each step, each thought and its result is being described with
extreme precision that takes a whole lot of guesswork away. It starts with short introduction of his own situation in life and
his plans when he decided to start this experiment and then it takes us into the trip where these thoughts get thorough reasoning.

Mr. Norman began with mushrooms to find help for his partner and ended up with
finding a way how to turn the trip into healing process. He broke it down into simple clear steps and made the warnings loud enough to
get noticed by the reader so one can be aware of certain dangerous tendencies our thoughts have and how to avoid them.

Basically, if read thoroughly, giving it a proper thought and taking it seriously this method have a potential to heal.
And yes - Anyone can open a door for you, but you need to walk through yourself. (sorry, I forgot who said it)
I would call the complete book of Max Magnus Norman the door-opening.
