The Sermons are placed in chronological order, extending over the whole period of my brother's thirty years' ministry. They were delivered, as will be seen, upon very varied occasions, and to widely different classes of people. For if the preacher seemed to breathe his native air most freely in the University pulpit or in Westminster Abbey, it may be said also of him, as Was once said of his Master.
