This book is quite outdated, but if you’re interested in seeing how much science has progressed it’s not a bad read. It does cover some of the biological/ chemical/ ecological bases as well as food webs and anthropogenic impacts on water ecosystems. Overall, being outdated and a general overview it was a 3/5 book.
