This state of the art CD-ROM ancillary to Levinton's accessible Marine Biology text offers students a guided tour of marine environments (including rocky shores, deep sea vent, plankton, coral reefs, salt marshes, hot vents, soft bottoms, kelp forests, and marine larvae) in the form of a slide show of over 250 color photographic images. It also features a self-test of 260 questions which is keyed to the chapters in the book, and access to the illustrations and captions from the text. Instructors can use a CD projector to display the images during their lectures or make transparencies from the images, and they can also make the disk available to students for browsing in a computer lab.
System requirements: Any PC with a browser, or a Macintosh with color monitor and double-speed CD-ROM drive, System 7 or later (System 6.05 or later for MBE Hyepercard application only). At least 5 MB RAM required for System 6.05, 8 MB RAM minimum recommended for System 7.x and all Power Macs. Additional Requirements for Marine Biology Text Figures:
Some illustrations can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Illustrator.
Adobe Acrobat Viewer 2.1 is included courtesy of Adobe subject to an Adobe license agreement.
Other illustrations must be viewed with a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop.
