Yes, they are both heroes, on screen and off; yet Dane Pierce and Cory "Mac" Mackendall are as different as cognac and Perrier, and starlet Jessica Taylor loves them both. It doesn't take her long to decide that despite his tantalizing green eyes and raw sexuality, Dane is not the man she needs. It is the solid and devoted--if sometimes hot-headed--Mac who wins her hand and her heart, and who must endure a lifelong challenge to keep that heart safe from Dane's unending pursuit. From Hollywood soundstage to the Grenadine Islands, Starcrossed Hearts makes a journey not only around the world but also through the lives of some very real characters you will not soon forget.
“I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else,” Anne Carter asserts, when asked about her life in Southern California, where she’s lived since she was two. She cites the people, the weather and the beach as factors in her love affair with the West coast. Family, too, provides an anchor to the area, which she describes as a melting pot of humanity, “rich with characters and plots just waiting to be written.”
While romantic mystery and suspense are her favorites, Anne has written middle grade mysteries, literary shorts, poetry and non-fiction. Long a lighthouse fanatic, it was only a matter of time before her obsessions intersected and a series of lighthouse novels emerged. Paranormal elements abound in POINT SURRENDER, CAPE SEDUCTION and ANGEL'S GATE, where mystery, romance and troubled ghosts provide hauntingly entertaining tales set in California lighthouses.
When she is not writing, editing or promoting, Anne enjoys time with her husband and three children, two grands and one neurotic dog. She is a skilled photo editor and loves restoring old snapshots and creating digital slideshows. Watch for the fourth paranormal lighthouse mystery, AMOROSO PASS, coming soon!

StarCrossed Hearts by Anne Carter is consuming. I am always stunned at Carter's amazing ability to capture my attention and hold it forever. I never want her stories to end. This book is no exception. She hooked me in the first chapter and never let go. The characters are amazing; strong yet sensitive. And the plot lines are like being pulled into a spider web, the way they criss and cross in every surprising direction. Yet, in ending and epilogue, she is able to bring them together into a fine point. When I wasn't on the edge of my seat, I was reaching for the tissues. Carter left no questions unanswered. This would make a terrific movie, which is ironic since it is a book about making movies.
Great romantic triangle story! Just when you think the story line may be running out, a new twist is introduced! Looking forward to the next book which I will be downloading momentarily!
This is romance with a touch of class, StarCrossed Hearts tugged on mine. Wow. What a powerful read by Anne Carter. I’ve loved every one of her books that I’ve read so far and this one did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried. A master of words, Ms. Carter takes us into the lives of three Hollywood movie stars and the way she does it makes you feel as if you know these people, even have seen some of their movies. Being from Southern California, Anne Carter, knows how to tell a true Hollywood romance, I know because I grew up there too.
Jessica, an up and coming new star, could be you or me—she’s that likable (Heehee) and completely star struck in love with Dane. Dane is adorable in my book, with a hint of bad boy to him that is irresistible. He of course, loves Jessica, but will he ever admit it? Cory “Mac” is every woman’s dream guy, gorgeous, gentle, caring, the guy next-door, except, like all of them, he needs to be told and Jessica is in love with him too. Yes, I do believe it is possible to love to men at the same time. What to do?
I wanted to know these three people personally and be their friend. Heck, I wanted to be Jessica, that’s how good this book is. When a book takes me to that level something magical happens and I need to brag about it and I have been. If you know me, you’ve heard me. The on location shoots to the other side of the world were fascinating and descriptive, giving us a glimpse into the lives of the filmmakers. I've already started reading the next book in the StarCrossed series, A Hero’s Promise, which was just released on April 15th, 2012. ☺☺☺☺☺ ♥♥♥♥♥
