This “True Book” series title presents self-driving cars. It follows the usual format of two introductory T-F questions that are then answered in the ensuing chapters. The evolution of self-driving cars, their unique features and the pros and cons of their use are all covered in some detail. The straightforward text discusses the technologies required for their development and operation. Captioned photos, diagrams and a brief timeline provide added information. The larger font, generous line spacing and numerous photo-illustrations make this title ideal for ELLs and reluctant readers. Back matter includes a “True Statistics” page, bibliography, publisher’s website, glossary and index. These books, usually on timely topics, are quite popular with intermediate readers. They are good browsing books and suited to beginning research.
