Fictional ingenuity turns this simple premise, this small boat, and a tiny array of vocab... into delightful little stories for early readers.

Aboard a small raft, with a tiny washtub for furniture, Pup and Hound climb aboard and begin their seafaring.

Suddenly the pair of dogs become Pirate Pup and crew. While Pup serves as captain, the cute little puppy called "Hound" mainly tries not to slip. Uh-oh. There's rough water ahead.

As for the perfect "treasure" at the end of the tale, yes! No spoiler from me, but I can see how the dogs will enjoy that.

Altogether this is a tender, right-sized adventure for early readers -- truly a FIVE STAR adventure.
