II. Processes have been devised microchemical methods) by which minute particles of the rock-form ing minerals may be subjected to a more or less complete chemical analysis. These methods of microchemical ana lysis are either dry ones - which may be either qualitative or quantitative, - or wet ones - which up to the present time have been almost entirely restricted to qualitative determinations.
