The Associate Administrator for Space Flight and the Space Shuttle Program Director conducted an open formal industry briefing on August 21. 1995, at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Texas. At this briefing, the Associate Administrator and Program Director 1) an overview and status of the Shuttle program; 2) principles to be followed in restructuring the progam; 3) a status of the implementation of restructuring; 4) principles for contract consolidation to a single prime contract; 5) the planned approach for contract consolidation; and, 6) a discussion of transition from the current structure to a single prime contract. The contents of the cbd were reiterated and industry was invited to respond.
