THE DIARY OF A NORTHERN MOON."I enjoyed , The Diary of a Northern Moon. From the moment it arrived and I glanced through a few pages, I was HOOKED! It hit home with me in many ways...I have two daughters. One married with a Veterinarian business, the other in Advertising. "I thoroughly enjoyed your novel with all of it's mysterious twists and turns. One of the things I also liked was that I am so familiar with some of the Adirondack places that are a part of your story, I could picture myself being there. All is well that ends well, and it did. Looking forward to your next novel."THE DIARY OF A NORTHERN MOON is the second novel by Gloria Waldron Hukle in a planned series of three.
This book takes place in North Creek, NY, my mother’s hometown and the place in which I spent many weekends and summer days growing up. It is authored by my newly discovered through Ancestry DNA 4C1R, whose meticulous research of her Waldron Family is clearly laid out in these pages. I highly recommend for anyone familiar with the history of the Waldrons in North Creek, or anyone who loves the town and shares a history with this great Dutch Family.
This is a mystery set in the Adirondack town of North Creek, New York. The reviewer J. Alpha said " Establishing contemporary relevance in a story built around the lives of people who arrived in America 300 years ago is a narrative challenge that Hukle tackles with a theme of "new beginnings" It is a universal theme that not only defines the lives and inspirations of the people in the century leading up to America's Industrial Revolution but also resonates with a contemporary sensibility of a new American era today.
Murder, mystery and romance...what more could readers seeking a good dose of fictional truth want. Well, good writing of course, and Gloria Waldron Hukle delivers in "The Diary of a Northern Moon"
The Diary of a Northern Moon is also available as hard or softcover and Kindle, Nook, ipad, Blackberry etc.
Gloria has used her interest in genealogy in her novels. She uses family names, and perhaps some elements of facts. She has her main character searching for information about her father, who died when she was very young. The story is good. There were times when I thought I had skipped some of the book on my kindle, because I couldn't tell where the author was headed with the story. Then she would back track, and fill in the information, that I thought I had missed somehow. It was confusing at times.
