Pretty good! Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m not really into sci-fi stuff, but “Cosmic Chaos” was well done. I definitely liked the last half much better compared to the first half. I think it’s neat that the author’s daughter did the illustrations (very nice!), even though Maggie looking like the typical alien did take me back a bit. I wasn’t a fan of Nanny at all, but the ending was good. Logan’s mom was just awesome and truly I’d like a sequel just because of her and Amy (the homeschooler). ;)

I first heard of this book at my Uncle Darrel’s 90th birthday party last July. I was delighted to hear my cousin authored this book. I downloaded it on my kindle reader, and enjoyed it enough to add a paperback to my home library. C.M. Shelton is a talented writer. The story is fresh and the characters relatable. I was especially impressed how the author was able to tell a science fiction, post-apocalyptic story with dinosaurs seeped in Christian fantasy. It was fun and I expect young adults interested in science fiction/fantasy will not be disappointed.

Cosmic Chaos by CM Shelton is a Science Fiction adventure for kids. This is the kind of Science Fiction novel I grew up reading. Robert A. Heinlein was my first love among writers as a boy and this novel is as good as many of his lighter-hearted works. Let me tell you why I like Cosmic Chaos. The writing is great. It perfectly fits the genre and the targeted age. I also like the fact that most of it takes place on the moon. One of Mr. Heinlein’s greatest novels takes place on the moon too but CM Shelton shows us life on the moon from a boy’s perspective and the boy is a likable young misfit to boot. I like the main character, Logan. He sometimes makes dumb moves but he’s a boy! I cut him some slack. Unfortunately, his father, the robots in charge of his life, and the authorities on the moon are not so kind.
Logan is a smart likable kid who misses his mom who is back on Earth. Trust me, Maggie the robot housekeeper is not a suitable substitute. The Jetsons robot maid was a lot more competent. Actually, Maggie, the maid is the source of a lot of Logan’s problems. Life on the moon is not easy for kids and Logan and his father wants to get back to Earth. It looks impossible until…
Buy Cosmic Chaos. If you like great characters and good adventure, you won’t regret reading it yourself. But the best thing you can do with it is give it to a smart young person. You might change their world.
