R D (Pete) Culler wrote a delightful book on rowing from a cultural and hands-on perspective. Culler is rowing (and small boat) enthusiasts and frames his perspective as one who watched rowing passers my its heyday to a time where a rowing revival may be appreciated. Although there have been many folks rowing for pleasure and work, there a few authors who have written about rowing in the heyday.

Maybe I have more interest in a historical perspective than most, but let the historical writers get the information into print. With a look backward to history, the current rowing practices can be judged fairly.

There is plenty of practical tips that lend themselves to being tried. Enjoy a fun activity.
