Rate this book
Change Your Relationship with Your Fabric Stash, and Become a More Creative QuilterThis book is for the creative quilter who knows and appreciates the value of every inch of fabric, but values the organization and order of their sewing room even more. The defined scrap sizes and restricted storage space gives you control over your excess fabric and trains you to funnel it into creative use. ScrapStashtic Quilts will nurture your quilt design creativity and teach you how to “fabricate” fast, unique quilts based on the constraints of the supplies you have on hand. The quilt recipes allow you to explore the creative possibilities of a traditional quilt, while breaking through the implied limitations of a typical quilt pattern. This system will enable you to say, “All I need to design a one-of-a-kind piece of art is my brain and my fabric.”ScrapStashtic Quilts is a complete scrap quilting system based on over 30 years of sewing experience and 20 years of productivity and time management study. Janellea Macbeth presents easy to follow steps that will increase your quilting creativity, clean up your sewing space, keep your fabric stash fresh and inspiring, and help you reduce your quilting carbon footprint. If you like books by Kim Brackett, Evelyn Sloppy, and Jane Ford, you will love this book. Well-written and easy to follow, she suggests ways to organize a fabric stash and scraps in a way that will make it practical and functional. Only 63 pages, however, this is one of those quilt books that you will refer to again and again. I know I have seen some of this information before but not in a format so clear and concise. Recommended for a beginner and experienced quilter, great ideas for sewing charity quilts and Quilt Guild projects. Reviewed at http://pennyformythoughts-nona.blogsp...

Great guide for using up fabric scraps

I like that the author mentions that regardless of the size scrap, it is still monetarily worth something. I find it difficult to throw out pieces of fabric that are large enough to cut even a 2" square. I see friends throw out larger than 5" squares, and it drives me nuts. That fabric has value. I really like how the author's mind works. Very practical!

This is a very unique way of looking at scraps

I have never thought to do this before and I'm going to try it with my next quilt projects. Keeping the scraps in a bowl to cut up in blocks to be used in a scrappy quilt the woman is amazing

I found this on-line as a free e-book. As a newish quilter, I already ave a growing stash of scraps... This book offers a common sense approach / system of organizing and recipes to use the stash. Quick read, interesting anecdotes from the author.

Scraps no more!

This book makes an overwhelming prospect now seem more reasonable. Slow and steady will be my new motto. Thank you!

will help me refine my scrap system--the one that still leaves me feeling out of control! I've never met a scrap I couldn't save.
