During Kathryn Kuhlman's ministry, she used to offer tapes and one of the most requested ones she offered was entitled The Beginning of Miracles. The tape became popular because in it, she shared the beginning of her early ministry, disappointments she encountered, and Who was the secret to her ministry - The Holy Spirit. The very first chapter of this book is I believe a transcription of that tape! Therefore, this book is part autobiographical and is full of teaching messages direct from the author.

The message that I noticed Ms. Kuhlman weaved like a thread through most of this book was the message on the Holy Spirit being her secret to her power in ministry. She says, "What is the secret to the power in this ministry? The secret is found in the Person of the Holy Spirit. I have chosen to accept the gift that Jesus left for me, and you will never regret it if you accept His gift, too." She teaches that there wasn't a greater gift that Jesus could have left us. It was His own secret to His victory in ministry, victory in the hour of temptation, the power and miracles demonstrated, and even the power that raised Him from the grave. She says, "I wish I could stand on the highest mountain top and shout it until every man, every woman, every priest, ever rabbi, every minister who is behind the pulpit could know and hear and understand. This wonderful gift that Jesus has given to His body of believers is a sacred and a holy gift. What greater gift could Jesus give than the One who had been responsible for the miracles performed through His ministry, the One who had empowered Him, whose power had raised Him from the grave - the Holy Spirit?"

11 messages from one of the greatest preacher in her age. We could learn many things from the author experiences. God could used anyone, from all background, from any denomination for His works. There is never too late, and right now God is readying us for something in His works.

It's a wonderful guide for living a life of victory. It's small and handy. Good read. Loved it!
