such an intense, gripping story about the author, a horribly, abused Nazi concentration camp survivor, Who was barely still alive at the time of his interaction with a near- dying Nazi officer. He was asked for forgiveness for all of his horrible behavior towards Jews, from a Jew!!. What a devilishly complicated question that request raised, as outlined by all the invited commenters in the second half of the book. I personally agree with the author, for his refusing to give absolution to a repeatedly, purposeful, and willful monstrous and. Repeatedly, murderous activities, he personally did. But there are pretty thoughtful contrasting arguments in the reviewers comments too.
This book is Certainly a true classic in contemporary American literature, and incredibly thoughtful, for sure. By the way, wonderfully written, and a pretty fast read…
