Jennifer and Blake Simmons are a young married couple living in Toronto. They’ve been together for two years now, and already things are starting to look bleak. They’re both bored with their marriage, and they’d give anything to get that spark back — even if it means going against the morals that they both grew up with.
Enter Haley and Desmond a French couple who actively participate in a lifestyle that neither Jennifer nor Blake have even heard of. But after meeting at a party and going back to their place, Jennifer and Blake decide to try it on for size. And much to their surprise, they like how it fits.
Now their eyes have been opened, and this couple has decided to embark on a journey that will introduce violence, infidelity, and an unexpected little package into their lives. In just shy of a year Jennifer, Blake, and everyone around them will be changed completely — but whether for the good or not remains to be seen.

It's a confusing tale, if not very erotic at times. It would be better if it just headlined, a woman's sexual journey, as the hotwifying, as they call it, is a small part of the story. Jennifer goes from sexually bored wife to hotwife to pregnant to cheating wife to porn star. All in a year. Most of the story is seen through her mind with bits from her husband and boss. Although the men in her life do not know what's gradually going on, Jennifer rides a very confusing, dangerous and cruel, ( at times), life aimed at her own selfish gains. Trying not to give to much away, this is really a good tale. If you want your emotions jumping up and down, this is a tale for you. After all is said and done, it is a great tale and worth the read. I concur with a previous review, in that the epilogue is not very clear. To me, it is inconclusive to Blake and Jennifers sexual relationship with each other. Sorry.
This series was very different. The story was well developed and it kept me in a state of anticipation. Not sure any of the characters was likeable I actually got to really dislike the 'heroine'. There was one point I took a break to plot their demise. I was hooked and kept on coming back because I just couldn't get it out of my head or anticipate what's next. By the time I have up things got resolved. Anyhow.. Read it just don't expect to like any of the characters after part 2.
This was a well written book in my opinion. The characters had substance, there is a lot going on, and I like the setting of Toronto as it made it more accessible as it had land marks from the city. With out spoilers… I mean the main wife goes on one heck of a ride as she chases her sexual awakening. Some of was uncomfortable to read as those sexual encounters didn’t resonate with me.
This book was an exciting read, but when things starting getting tough for the main characters I gave up on it and had to pick it up a few weeks later to try it again. And I put it down again and was able to get back on track when the characters got their house in order. Hard to explain without giving away the story, the husband Blake jumps at the chance for a new sexual experience for his wife.
"No, instead the emotions that ran through Blakes's mind were more akin to arousal, power, and an intense desire for his wife-not to sleep with her per se, but to watch her be pleasured in as many ways, and by as many different people as possible."
"...and her love for him grows like a fire that's just gotten a gust of air."
Jennifer gets a huge promotion at work and her boss Sebastian is also into the new sexual trend and Jennifer has caught his eye in a big way.
"And then they connect their lips connect, and Jennifer's mind becomes a cacophony of explosions and fireworks filling her entire brain."
"Her body writhes and twists with outrageous ecstasy, the ability to think flung far out of the window."
As a reader I was very pleased with how this very long book ended; the family that had been created and the love that each felt for each other.
Confession first: I didn't finish this book. I tried... I really tried. But from the perfectly awful use of present tense to the ponderous, plodding plot that tramped over the same ground over and over. It didn't have to be this way: the premise is interesting as Jennifer and Blake engage in an on-going relationship with the exotic Haley and Desmond. Planned as purely a lark, the extra-curricular pairings quickly threaten to spin out of control as the carefully announced "rules" are bent and manipulated. Feelings grow, get stomped on, and get hurt. Marriages are threatened. And yet...Cummings' unengaging writing, characterizations and plotting simply left me unable to care.
Wow, talk about a kerfuffle of emotions that leave you in a state of emotional exasperation, sexual need and wonder. Life is messy but DAMN! This woman has it down to an art, at first. After searching long and hard she finally finds her answers. You needs access to a air conditioner and I recommend sitting directly in front of it while reading this 'cause this collection of books is HOT! **Sexual situations book not recommended for people who don't love sex.
